California GOP does not support Arizona immigration law

August 23, 2010

The California Republican party stood by gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman and decided not to endorse Arizona’s controversial immigration law during their semiannual convention this weekend. [WashingtonIndependent]

Conservative activists in the state have been pushing for party support of SB 1070 and Proposition 187, a 1994 effort to cut public benefits to undocumented immigrants.

However, gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman’s statements that she opposes both SB 1070 and Proposition 187 have created some concern that her opposition could create a rift in the party.

During the Republican primary, Whitman said she was “tough as nails” on immigration, but since then she has changed her tone in part to attract the Latino voters in the state.

Talking out of both sides of her mouth, In the Primaries her and Poisner battled almost daily over who supported Arizona more and who was more against Illegal immigration. Now she won’t even take their tax payer gifted benefits away. Only a fool would vote for someone this sleazy.

Unfortunate our politicians or those wishing to be, do not want to support the nations security…

” both SB 1070 and Proposition 187″

These both were created and passed to augment our existing laws, which are not enforced by the Federal government. That is the sole reason why AZ passed their bill, because the feds won’t do their job…

Looks like we are going down the drain no matter which way we vote. So depressing.

I oppose the GOP and Whitman.

I was considering voting for Whitman until a family member sent me this link which has an interview with Whitman on KFI RADIO.

OMG !!!! She will say anything to get elected and the radio host exposed her as a big liar and hypocrite. Before you vote watch this video of the actual interview which lasts about 30 minutes.

Any way the wind blows…
