At about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, a surfer reported seeing an approximately 12-foot shark in the ocean about 30-yards offshore just south of the Pismo Beach pier.
As a precaution, officials from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection posted warnings signs along the beach that are slated to remain in place for five days.
Nevertheless, the beach is still open and some surfers and swimmers are not letting the warnings keep them out of the water.
On Saturday, the first sighting of a shark occurred near the pier about 90-feet offshore. Then on Wednesday, a shark was again spotted in the same area.
