3 bodies found off California Coast

March 12, 2012

U.S Coast Guard crews searching for a missing fishing vessel found four bodies near a capsized vehicle on Sunday. [Noozhawk]

Three of the bodies were pulled from the ocean near Platts Harbor, about 25 miles south of Santa Barbara, and crews continue to look for the fourth missing man.

After the 24-foot craft had failed to return to Santa Cruz Island on Sunday, a search was initiated by a family member of one of the men.

Platts Harbor is a wide-open anchorage known by mariners to offer little protection, with a swell that travels straight into the harbor, Noozhawk said.

Very sad news.

My condolences to their families and all who loved them, my prayers are with you.

Never under estimate the power of the ocean or the value of an editor.

Blessings to those who lost their loved ones.

“…cap sized vehicle…”

That’s a pretty small boat, if it is only the size of a cap. =)

How terrible…capsized and lost at sea.
