California wineries courting gays

wine33Sonoma and Napa Valley wineries are courting gay customers by coming out with labels in support of same sex marriage. [LA Weekly]

The producers of Same Sex Meritage, a Sonoma grown red table wine that is sold in stores in Chicago, donate $1 out of every purchase to Freedom to Marry, a campaign to legalize same sex marriage nationwide.

Stand Tall Wine Co. has followed suit by donating 1 percent of all sales to the Napa LGBTQ Project. Stand Tall, which sells a pinot noir, encourages gays to support gay businesses.

“The queer community can feel good about supporting a gay business and helping their fellow queers,” Stand Tall writes on its website. “The rest of you can assuage your liberal guilt by supporting a small business and helping others.

Other wineries that donate money to same sex marriage charities include Barefoot Wine & Bubbly, which offers a variety of red and white wines, and Egalite, French for equality. Egalite sells a sparkling red.

Everyone should try gay wine. But only once when you’re young.

Yes, yes. This is all fine and dandy, but where’s the wine for Polygamists and those who wish to marry their cats? THAT’s the wine I want to see!

We’ve been drinking all along. and, you left out Heathens, Swingers, Politicians and Drummers. you know those drummers.. Oh, they are the worst! (except singing bass players)

Lemmy would probably agree!

Do not forget the horn section.

NO GAY wine for this jarhead

good.

Have you tried Jarhead Red from Curtis Vineyards? Made by Marines for Marines.

YES rOy, i have tried it , not to bad

Remember when Jesus got snappy with his mother at a wedding party because they ran out wine, and she felt that since Jesus creates miracles, He should feel obligated to provide more wine for the party? Therefore, He reluctantly made wine out of some six, thirty gallon ceremonial water jars to make the wedding party more drunk than they were! (For the math impaired, that’s 180 gallons of extra wine for the party). Jesus must have been a party animal! (John 2:1-11)

In any event, what would Jesus think now in having His favorite beverage promoting the gay agenda? Notwithstanding, His Fathers total disgust for the homosexual in Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:18-32 where the homosexual is to be put to death, so saith the Lord thy God!

What every TRUE Christian should be afraid of, is that as a lesson to those who have the audacity to show physical love for the same gender, is the Hebrew part, of the Hebrew-Christian God duality, incinerated the genitals, mouths and every other orifice involved in such sexual practices in the towns of Sodom and Gomorra (Genesis 19:24-25). Remember?

Therefore, this same ever loving and forgiving God just may take it out in the same manner against the Satanic wineries that are now promoting the gay agenda. The bible God might destroy their vineyards in the same way that He destroyed the innocent people’s crops in Egypt by loading the skies with locusts for three days because they worshipped another God! (Exodus. 10:1–20)

True Christians, watch out over the skies if you live near any of the wineries in question that are going against the teachings of the Judeo-Christian bible regarding the homosexual. Be aware, be very aware.

Lol. You should write for Saturday Night Live. Locusts?

i would be more concerned for the Straight people. Selective enforcement of Scripture is a shame. to arbitrarily decide what fits your agenda is blasphemy in the highest order.

Here’s an example;

Genesis 19:30-36

New International Version (NIV)

Lot and His Daughters

30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave. 31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth. 32 Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line through our father.”

33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and slept with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.

34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Last night I slept with my father. Let’s get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and sleep with him so we can preserve our family line through our father.” 35 So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.

36 So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.

scottabeer,

Yes, the irony is that the Hebrew-Christian God destroyed Sodom and Gomorra for it’s homosexual practices, but then allowed Lot to have sexual relations with his daughters to keep their lineage intact. There was a LOT of incest going on which is equally abhorrent as homosexual acts, but that was okay in the eyes of God. Go figure.

And, the only evidence we have of ANY of it is a book. Weird. The term homosexual seems to be based around the act of sex. I’m pretty sure that’s a little too much hype and gives the Gays more credit then us heterosexuals. I’m a Straight white male and can bring the Ruckus as well as anyone else but I’m not defined by my straightness. I’m pretty sure if there was a god, he’s judge me on my ability to not judge way more than my ability to mock “the gays”. what did Jesus teach about Homosexuals? I’m late for a meeting and don’t have time to look it up. Can you be a dear and do it for me?

scottabeer,

Of course I can be a “dear” so as to enlighten you!

Jesus has a whole lot to say about homosexuals. This is because certain divisions of Christianity believe that Jesus is God!. ( 1Timothy 3:16 and a plethora of other passages pointing out this fact ) Therefore, if Jesus is God, then as God He spoke directly against the homosexual in that they should be put to death. (Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:18-32) Besides, when Jesus is considered to be God, then He is culpable of ALL of the Old Testament horrors as well! Ouch, but that’s another story line.

If one doesn’t believe in the Triune of Jesus being God, and that He is just the Son of God, then one cannot argue from silence. This is because Jesus is in fact under the control of His Father whose inspired word states with specificity that what God said is NOT to be tampered with, period! ( Revelation 22:18-19, Proverbs 30:5-6 ) Therefore, what God said relative to the homosexual is that they should be put to death as the aforementioned passages in question above so command.

Besides, we have Jesus stating with specificity that ALL the commands of His Father are to be followed until heaven and earth pass away. Some of those commands unfortunately include the death of homosexuals. Have heaven and earth passed away yet? No, they haven’t. (Matthew 5:18) Therefore the commands in Leviticus 20:13 and Romans 1:18-32 are still in effect as biblically commanded. (Matthew 5:18)

Anyway, I hope this helps you understand the bible’s position against the homosexual lifestyle and the unfortunate outcome of death for this faction. Praise Jesus for having to follow His Father’s commands in this respect against the homosexual, or not, if He is God which made the killing commands of the homosexual in the first place. Praise!

Well, ya got me. Slain by the Jawbone of an ass,

I kind of went ahead of and did the Christian thing here and hand picked some things to suit me. “Judge not lest you be judged” (Matthew 7:1).

“Do not take the mote from your brother’s eye until you have removed the beam from your own” (Matthew 7:3).

“Let the one without sin among you cast the first stone” (John 8:7).

“Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31).

“I was naked and you clothed me, hungry and you gave me to eat… Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of these the least my brethren, you have done it onto me” (Matthew 25).

scottabeer,

Uh, my godly presence is far beyond that of any Samson!

I am sorry, but your cherry picked and weak refutations are in the top ten of the pseudo-christian’s responses to ANY situation whatsoever, even though, as usual, they have nothing to do with the topic at hand, but are thrown out there nonetheless.

They wouldn’t hold any water whatsoever, even in the boat Simon Peter used to catch 153 fish that Jesus , by proxy, caught for His disciples. Not only was Jesus a party animal as described above with Him producing 180 gallons of wine for a drunken party, but He was a hell of a fisherman as well! (John 21: 1-14)

Or? You might admit I did not make those passages up, I copied and pasted from the same book.

Their new blend, Sean Blank…….

Oh no.. another form of segregation. When i support a business it’s because i appreciate their product. I do not wish to know what their sexual preference is, or their political party, or what religious beliefs they may have, and I do not care what color their skins is. If this business wants to be successful they should be “courting” ALL consumers.

It is obvious that you have never worked a day of your life in sales or marketing. Almost all successful businesses target their marketing efforts. Is it segregation when McDonalds offers a Happy Meal to court the business of children? Are you personally offended when a store offers a senior citizen or military discount?

“If this business wants to be successful they should be “courting” ALL consumers.”

Really? ALL consumers? So this winery should try to court underage drinkers? Mormons, Muslims, and other groups whose religions prohibit alcohol consumption? Recovering alcoholics?

You really should think before you submit a comment.

Next they’ll have singles websites, and Cruises, Depends for Seniors and diapers for Infants and Fast Food commercials for stoners at 10:00 P.M. Wait. We have that.

As you were Euroamerican. Looks like Marketing is just that. people buy for various reasons. Finding customers is what drives a business. If I had a business that COULD focus on a particular group that made sense I would. I’d have fun with it too.

Have owned business thirty-eight years. Through good marketing, and hard work I have been very successful. I offer discount to senior citizens, and the military. but do not feel the need to have a label with an old age person propped up with a walker. I “court” ALL consumers. I believe most intelligent people are aware that Wine is an adult beverage, and Happy Meals are offered as a meal for children. There are haters who would boycott a gay business, so if they truly want to raise money for the freedom to marry fund, and also have a successful business wouldn’t they want to also “court” as many consumers from all walks of life as possible.

Also haven’t they tried for years to get away from the offensive term “Queer” or is it now Ok in the gay community to call one another Queers , just curious.

You should really think before submitting a comment … your reply sounds almost childish.

You either don’t get it or are too homophobic to understand. The winery isn’t segregating anyone. They are “courting” everyone to buy this wine. It’s not just for gay people. Are you really so close minded as to think only gay people support gay rights?

This is exactly the same thing as when some wineries offer a wine label with a pink ribbon to support the fight against breast cancer. Do you think those wineries are only “courting” customers who have breast cancer? Or does your bigotry only apply to people with a different sexual orientation from the one you claim to have?

I do not care who consenting adults have sex with. I do not care what color your skin is, or what your religious belief might be. They are donating money towards the Freedom to Marry campaign while turning back the clock using derogative slang terms like “Queers”

Ah, the word Queer. Depends what Context.. if you said “those Queers” it’s not good. if you said “us queers” it would be acceptable. Perspective.

Good. I’m glad they are doing that. It’s marketing brilliance. I can’t wait for the day that this would be unnecessary and not make news. People are people. The labels are brave and taking a risk others are hiding from. I remember back in the day when we had “Gas wars” it sure would be nice for the wineries try that. I’ll take a Joseph Phelps for $16.00 when Wine Snob turns to Wine Queer it will create a Buzz (pun intended) heard round the world.
