August 20, 2013
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the third suspect in a Morro Bay home invasion Sunday.
Following an apartment burglary in Morro Bay around 5 a.m. Sunday, police were searching for McKinley Ray Thomas. Along with a Morro Bay man and a man from Bakersfield, Thomas allegedly burglarized an apartment at 2100 Main Street and beat the occupants.
Police arrested Eric Ross Jr., 30, and Darrell Marquis Switzer, 19, after about two hours, but Thomas remained in hiding.
Around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, Morro Bay police received a tip that Thomas was at a Los Osos residence in the 1200 block of Santa Ynez Street.
The police department informed the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies located Thomas and arrested him without incident.
The deputies booked Thomas in San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of residential burglary, false imprisonment, battery and battery resulting in serious bodily injury.
Morro Bay police are still investigating the case, but believe that all suspects are in custody.
