A woman using a restroom at a senior living facility in Solvang was stunned to discover she was being videotaped via a cell phone hidden in the ventilation system.

Santa Barbara Sheriff deputies discovered the phone, which had videos of staff and residents of the facility in various stages of undress, belonged to the Atterdag Village of Solvang’s custodian. As a result, deputies arrested Juan Carlos Diaz, 35, for elder abuse and unauthorized recordings.

Deputies then executed a search warrant at Diaz’ home and found more evidence, some of which is possibly related to other crimes. Investigators plan to continue analyzing videos and identifying victims.

Juan sounds like your common deviate. Doesn’t sound like he

can function well in society…..so now we get to take care of him.

Has the fecal fairy who once hid out under the women’s restroom at Montana De Oro suddenly resurfaced?????

You’ve been around Pelican1. 1986 as I recall. That was the most bizzare story of the decade. Could that even happen today? I think those were earthen pit toilets back then – spooner’s cove.

“Investigators plan to continue analyzing videos and identifying victims”

Something about that just seems wrong. It’s embarrassing enough for these people to know a perverted janitor has pics of their naked droopy butt and now they have to suffer additional embarrassment because who knows how many guys decided to look at the video and figure out whose butt it is. Cripe the LE has this guy red handed, isn’t that enough? How many victims do they need to prosecute him anyway?

Cindy I think you’re taking a knee-jerk on this one.

On that tape there could have been a young kid that could have been filmed. So right there lewd act with a minor. Should they look at the first one minute and say…….alright we’re good? This, (looking at tape) like any other police work, is part of the investigation process. Just like a messy murder scene, it isn’t always going to be pleasant.

Also with each person that could be one count each for each different person. This stuff goes on all the time in law enforcement. It isn’t new. I’m sure at times it probably gets uncomfortable for the cops having to watch the crap that people like this pull.

Why not direct more of that contempt towards the perp and give the officers a break for having to investigate what this asshole did?

Well BTDT, let me put it this way. I would fully expect that the detectives will scan the video to confirm that their isn’t anything more than adults using the rest room. Now with that said, If the cops ever find a video of me pooping or peeing in a public restroom, I would prefer that they don’t pass my photo out trying to determine who I am and I certainly hope they don’t come find me, show me myself in the bathroom with my pants down and ask me to sign to the fact that it is ME.

I was thinking the same thing, Cindy. So you’re not alone. However, I suppose it’s “policy and procedure” which are sometimes followed… sometimes not… still, I wonder how many people will now get to “see the goods” as it were.

Hopefully they’ll not have to call anyone in to compare and verify… ;-)
