Hyde, 22, survived and received treatment at Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center. Two suspects fled the scene and evaded capture.
San Luis Obispo police say the shooting occurred after the two suspects entered Hyde’s home Thursday night for a transaction involving prescription drugs.
The suspects are described as a tall, black male in his 20s and a Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a chubby build.
Hyde was an all-conference center for the Cal Poly, who played football at the school from 2009-2012. He served as a student assistant coach with the football team this season, which ended Saturday.
