Victim killed in Paso Robles shooting identified

San Luis Obispo Sheriff deputies arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of killing Billy Don Lawson in rural Paso Robles on Friday.
Shortly after 3 a.m., a physician at a local hospital informed law enforcement that he was treating a person for a non-lethal gunshot wound. Based on information from the hospital, deputies drove to a home on the 700 block of Klau Mine Road where they found the body of Lawson in front of a doorway.
Deputies arrested John Steven Danner of Paso Robles on suspicion of murder. Danner is being held without bail.
The second victim was treated and then released from the hospital. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
