Possible contamination prompts chocolate recall
October 5, 2014
Cal Poly has recalled six varieties of candy bars because of possible contamination. [Tribune]
No contamination has yet been discovered. However, it was determined that a piece of equipment had not been properly cleaned. As a result, the candy could be tainted with bacteria or mold and could also contain allergens such as peanuts or soy.
Cal Poly distributes the candy bars through local retail stores, farmers markets and on campus.
The university voluntarily recalled its Peanut Butter Crunch Bar, Peppermint Crunch Bar, Spicy Cayenne Bar, Pumpkin Spice Bar, Olallieberry Crisp Bar, Coffee Crunch Bar, Milk Chocolate Bar, and Dark Chocolate Bar.
