Officers arrested a total of 11 suspects during multiple searches Saturday. During the first sweep, they sought high-risk DUI offenders who skipped court or violated probation, and during a second, they conducted probation checks and served gang-related search warrants.
Police only arrested one offender during the DUI suspect search. Bartolome Flores, 34, allegedly used a false name when officers arrested him last year for driving under the influence. Flores was also supposed to register as a sex offender in 2009, according to Santa Maria police.
Officers made a combined 10 arrests during 15 probation compliance checks and three gang-related searches. Suspects caught in the sweep received charges including possession of drugs, possession of weapons, unlawful gang association and violation of probation.
