Hancock College athletes arrested for murder

Santa Maria police arrested two Allan Hancock Basketball players, including the leading scorer of the team, early Saturday morning for allegedly murdering a man on Dec. 30.

Officers booked Ali Mohammed, 19, from Los Angeles, and Lavelle White, 22, from Gray, Ind., into the Santa Barbara County Jail on murder charges. Their bail has been set at $1 million each.

On Dec. 30, Terence Richardson, 23, of Santa Maria was shot near the intersection of Jones Street and Bradley Road. Emergency personnel transported Richardson to Marian Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

“Allan Hancock College has and will continue to cooperate fully with the Santa Maria Police Department during its investigation,” college officials said in a statement. “We are disappointed and shocked by the arrest of two of our student-athletes. We are still trying to understand all of the details of this incident, but this clearly does not meet the high standards our student-athletes have maintained for many years.”

White was a sophomore guard and a leading scorer for the Bulldogs.

In August, San Luis Obispo police arrested five Cal Poly football players, including the star of the team, for the armed robbery of Cal Poly’s Delta Sigma Phi fraternity house, which is located near the campus.

A month later, police arrested the ex-president of Cal Poly’s Delta Sigma Phi fraternity for marijuana sales. The second arrest occurred amid allegations the August robbery was prompted because of disagreements over marijuana sales.

Hancock is just trying to one-up Cal Poly. Cal Poly has armed robbers but Hancock Has murders.

I feel as though community colleges should concentrate on education and training. Supporting an athletic program is a waste of resources that could be better used elsewhere, like the taxpayers pockets.

These guys look half brain dead. Is this what is attending our community college or is just a shining example of community college criminal druggie athletes? And thanks Obama for adding ANOTHER freebie to your list. Another “freebie” for the taxpayer to be burdened with when healthy young college students can perfectly well work and pay for community college themselves just as I did. But you would rather teach our young to be as lazy as they can. Socialism works until you run out of other people’s money.

Other communities put their homeless on buses and send them up to SLO.

Now they can do the same for these “students”–just ship ’em off to get rid of them, and let them be someone else’s problem.

I just can’ wait until everyone can go to a community college for FREE as President Obama has now declared will be public policy. I feel a lot safer knowing that murderer, sociopaths, and just plain ol’ crooks will be attending CA community colleges at taxpayers’ expense with no prerequisites like decent grades or a relatively clean criminal record. These guys may be the exception to the rule now but are they harbingers of the future? I’m SO SORRY that bond passed so we can pay for the ext thirty years for this ilk to come here and terrorize students. Great place for CMC parolees, too.

But won’t FREE community college draw more more criminology, criminal justice, and law enforcement majors, to sniff out all the future murderers that are currently enrolled? Everyone knows that murderers get their start at community college.

There’s no such thing as free healthcare, or free college, or free cell phones.
