Naked man with pit bull loses foot chase

February 12, 2015

Pismo Beach cliffA naked man with a pit bull led police on a half-mile foot chase Wednesday morning.

Around 9:30 a.m., Pismo Beach officers responded to a report of a possibly suicidal man in the 300 block of Foothill Road, according to a police department news release. When the officers arrived, 38-year-old Brandon Fox became extremely agitated and ran away.

Amid the chase, Fox confronted an officer, who then deployed a less-lethal weapon. That did not stop Fox, who kept running until officers cornered him in the 1300 block of Costa Del Sol.

Officers then took Fox into custody. The suspect, who is believed to be a local transient, suffered minor injuries during the arrest.

As police kept investigating the initial lead, they determined that Fox had threatened to kill a resident. They also located a 12-gauge shotgun, along with a semi-automatic pistol, drug paraphernalia and a small amount of methamphetamine in Fox’s vehicle.

Before taking him to jail, officers brought Fox to a local hospital for medical clearance due to his bizarre behavior. They then booked him in San Luis Obispo County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Fox is charged with making terrorist threats, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm.

Officers were glad that he was not a hardened criminal!

Shows the need for more gun control obviously when…oh wait this guy broke the laws already on the books that are not enforced.

If mace was used, it will NOT have sufficient affect on someone who is high on meth.

(About 2 years ago, LAPD SWAT surrounded a home with a mentally ill paranoid person high on meth, after they tear gas the place, three SWAT officers went in, as they entered one officer was shot through the mouth and hospitalized, the other was shot in the head and died at the scene)

Pismo PD by their wording appears to be proactive with “some” of the community concerns.

Appears to be good efficient and through team work without overescalation of force till needed.

If all is an accurate account I will add that should this methhead had gotten reach of his “loaded” shotgun or his semi pistol in his condition and in his hand, with all the other info given, he can be legally shot dead with no critism from me.

I think it was a professional job and thank them for not ignoring “some” of our concerns among the mix pool of different types of mentally and medically ill.

If all is accurate, they can claim it was a risky job and deserves the pay, benefit and appreciation (true respect-not fear) entitled to them.

“he suspect, who is believed to be a local transient”… can one be a local transient?

Aaron….again?

lol. Too funny. Yes! Aaron Ochs on meth!

I hope he wasn’t the guy that I gave $10 to while begging downtown. He probably used my money to buy some of that meth.

The only strange thing here is, this occurred in Pismo Beach and not in San Luis Obispo.

BTW – What happened to the pitbull?

I understand they turned him lose this morning , hope they have the weapons

Hash house harrier, by any chance?
