PASO ROBLES BRICK SIGNPaso Robles police are searching for a man who reportedly used a small kitchen knife during an attempt to rob a 13-year-old boy. The incident allegedly occurred while the teen was walking to school Wednesday morning, and the boy escaped unharmed.

At approximately 8 a.m., the 13-year-old was walking in the area of the Melody Drive and Sylvia Circle on his way to Daniel Lewis Middle School. A man then jumped out at him with a small kitchen knife and demanded his backpack and sweatshirt, the teen told police.

The teen was scared and ran away, according to a Paso Robles Police Department press release. When the boy arrived at school, he reported the incident to campus authorities who contacted the police.

The boy described the suspect as a white male approximately 30 to 35 years old with a graying dark-colored beard. The man was reportedly wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and camouflage pants.

Officers searched the area but did not locate anyone matching the description.

An investigation into the reported attempted robbery is ongoing. Investigators request that people with information about the alleged crime contact the police department.

That neighborhood is absolutely packed each morning w/cars & kids walking to LMS, PRHS & other nearby schools yet no witnesses saw the alleged perp.

It doesn’t add up. Sorry but I don’t believe the boy’s story.

What are the odds that the perpetrator is one of our fine “homeless” citizens?

Or local meth addicts.
