On June 9, Stephen Joseph Lemus, 38, pleaded no contest to possessing and transporting child pornography and possessing matter showing minors engaging in sexual conduct. Prosecutors did not drop any charges against Lemus.
Court records state Lemus will serve 84 days in jail, followed by 186 days of home detention and three years of felony probation. Lemus must also register as a sex offender.
After receiving a tip, detectives searched Lemus’ home in the 2500 block of Johnson Avenue on Dec. 30. Detectives found several images and videos of minors engaged in various sex acts with adults. The adults could not be identified because of the manner in which they were photographed or filmed, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
All of the child pornography evidence detectives collected came from Lemus’ room. Investigators believe no one else living at the home had knowledge of or involvement in the child pornography activities.
