Investigators release photos of Atascadero bank robbery suspects

June 18, 2020

Atascadero police are asking the public to help them identify two people suspected in the May 28 robbery of the Golden 1 Bank on El Camino Real. Investigators obtained video footage from a local business of the suspected bank robber and his accomplice.

Shortly after 4 p.m., a man entered the bank, produced a note demanding money, and said he had a gun. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the bank.

Witnesses spotted the suspect getting into a black four-door sedan.

Officers are asking anyone with information about the incident or who recognizes the people in the surveillance photos to call the Atascadero Police Department at (805) 461-5051.

For a long time I always thought banks had cameras everywhere ….But I found out different .Every time I have withdrawn cash at bank ATM ,I counted in open view figuring camera would document how much machine gave me .One night I counted and machine shorted me 40.00…. So next day went to my bank told manager check the ATM camera …I was told there was no ATM camera …I was in shock …after a bit I received my 40.00 as the money count showed a 40.00 error .

Too bad Golden 1 didn’t have decent video footage of the bank robbers. These grainy pics from a nearby business aren’t very clear.

Why wouldn’t a bank invest in some quality surveillance cams?
