mullyman/aye-caramba, r0y/pigsrule, take a trip to Phoenix and see what is going on there. If you think it is a hoax, it is the time to take a dream vacation. Flights and lodging are cheap.

But if you don’t have kids in school, if you are cautious, you can ride this out until a vaccine becomes available by the beginning of next year. It is not cowardly to be wise.

Unfortunately people who won’t do simple things to help slow this down are a big cause of the cases going up and and in turn businesses having to close.

This plague is completely overrunning us. 14 people in our counties hospitals!? We can’t handle that. We’re done for.

I thought this was interesting;

1. Daily Heart Disease Deaths: 1,773

2. Daily Cancer Deaths: 1,641

3. Daily Medical Malpractice Deaths: 685

4. Daily Accident Deaths: 465

5. Daily Lower Respiratory Disease Deaths: 439

6. Daily Stroke Deaths: 401

7. Daily Alzheimer Deaths: 332

8. Daily Diabetes Deaths: 229

9. Daily Drug Deaths: 192

The seven day running total for Covid 19 is 730 deaths per day. pretty bad. The regular flu average is 331/day average for 2019/2020. Make of it what you will.

Heart disease and cancer are the results of either a poor lifestyle or genetics. Flu rates vary year by year, some worse than others but the very worst year saw 80k deaths in a longer period of time than our current 136k COVID deaths.

COVID-19 is the result of spending time in the presence of someone who is infected. Hard to prevent heart disease or cancer, but easy to prevent COVID-19 with social distancing, masks, hand washing, being smart. Most every first world country has beaten it back. Only Trumpist America is the dunce sitting in the corner of the classroom.

Why the constant equivocation by you people? I don’t get it. COVID is a deadly disease that is currently killing at about 1%. That would be 3.2 million Americans if no precautions were taken. By comparison, the 1918 so called Spanish Flu (although its origins may have been in Haskell County, Kansas) killed 675,000 Americans. We may get close to that if we continue with the current stupidity.

I get your point. However, none of the nine causes of death are contagious.

And here in a few weeks covid will be more than those. Deaths over the past week are from infection 3-4 weeks ago on average about 25-30k. Look at average infections for last week and in 21-28 days see what the deaths are. Will be 2-3 times as many.

So the virus only hangs out in those type of businesses and I can’t get it at the grocery ,auto parts home depot or other stores . I feel safe now

Lucky me! After no haircut since Feb 1 and no shave since Mar 19, my barber morphed me from a scraggly hippie into a clean cut guy. I was so happy I gave him a beaucoup tip, left, then checked KSBY on my mobile phone about 4-ish and voila! No more barber shops in SLO starting tomorrow. Wow, I felt like I just won the lottery! But you know, he didn’t wear a mask, and I didn’t wear a mask (hard to wear my bandana and get my big beard cut off), but all the other barbers and customers were wearing masks. Will I still be lucky in 7 to 10 days? Ugh, I don’t even want to think about it!

It’s being reported that If one person tests positive for coronavirus virus, that person can be counted again with another positive test thus adding to the increased positive tests. One person counted as two positive tests. This was reported happening in Texas and Virginia (or West Virginia). Is that going on in SLO County?

According to Dr. Peg, our database in SLO county uses full name and date of birth so that cases aren’t counted more than 1x for the same person. So unless you’re lying about your name and DOB, don’t count on it bub.

maybe because everyone’s name is Bubba or Jim-Bob

I just love the last line of the report, repeated now for 5 or 6 weeks. “In addition, the number of people worldwide infected with the virus continues to increase:13,689,855 cases with 586,772 dead”

While I love CCN, I keep wondering, how would the number of dead ever decrease? Tomorrow will the report suddenly change to say “the number of dead has deceased to 584,896? “. Have they arisen? Is that the sign the pandemic is over?

Glad to hear the indoor protests are shut down, but outdoor protests are allowed to continue!!!

Are they nuts, or is it only me and the sane ones who see this ridiculous act? Where is the elephant in the room?

The virus and it’s spread cannot be stopped … I can see the anxiety ridden citizens diving under their beds in terror . Be afraid , be very afraid . And YES , closing beauty parlors and churches , those bastions of plagues . When do the grown-ups arrive ?

I am hoping, with the latest internet purges, that the adults are just hunkering down and letting the traumatized consume themselves.

I just hope CCN does not come to the point where all their clicks/revenue from a radical sect does not require constant feeding, lest they become like VOX.

It is my firm belief that our society has been conditioned to anger for so many years, there may be no easy way out of it. I also believe this was done to better control people, as nothing is easier to control than angry people… as long as there’s a boogeyman, at least.

Thanks, rOy.

Best post I’ve seen on CCN in years.
