Thousands attend anti-Trump rallies in San Luis Obispo County

San Luis Obispo County residents opposed to President Donald Trump’s administration attended “No Kings” rallies in San Luis Obispo, Atascadero and Cambria on Saturday.

Several thousand people, including Democratic party leaders, attended the peaceful rallies.

Elected officials included Assemblymember Dawn Addis, California Senator John Laird, SLO County supervisors Bruce Gibson and Jimmy Paulding along with SLO Mayor Erica Stewart and Councilwoman Michelle Shoresman.

Protestors held signs with statements such as: Cage the Tyrant, Legality is not Morality, No Ice, Trans Rights and Free Palestine.

All involved protested, gathered their stuff, and went home. Nobody will rember this day historically except for, maybe, a few protesters. At least Trader Joe’s was empty.

We know who pays for all this. Many of these people answered an ad. Got paid. Show up, made some noise and moved on. Welcome to “American Demonstrators 2025”. As for all the “grey-haired” people who should know better, I ask, “where’s your wisdom dude?” Do you have any after all these years? Have you really let MSNBC be your guide? An incredibly symbolic day. I left SLO County about 13 years ago and now live in a very conservative Pac NW town and went to our No Kings protest today and was shocked. The turnout was crazy – either way more Libs in this town that I was aware of or, a lot of recent converts. The other two notable things were all the horn-honks [the protest was along the sidewalk of a busy street] of passersby, and, all the AMERICAN FLAGS on the protester’s side. Seeing a lot more RED WHITE and BLUE on the side of those fighting to keep the nation intact – the way it should be.

The only reason you saw more red white and blue was because the main democratic deep pocket funders and democratic leaders instructed the protesters to lower international flags and raise more American flags to make the protest look more patriotic because the majority of Americans were turned off or plainly just disagreed with reason for protesting against the administration’s deportation policies while flying their nation of origin they left to try to get a piece of the American dream.


The American flags would not have been raised in large number by these “RESIST” protesters and paid agitators if they’re leaders and organizers weren’t trying to make these protests look more patriotic.


The majority of Americans do not agree with these protests and it shows at the polls. But the others do have the right to show opposition by protesting-PEACEFULLY & LAWFULLY!!!!!


I do believe in the right to protest and I am glad many protests happened this weekend peacefully. For the many protesters that have not been peaceful, I hope they are caught, tried, and given stiff punishment to stop this unlawful behavior.

Do you have any credible evidence at all to back up your first paragraph? NO KINGS looks more patriotic because it IS more patriotic. What about not having kings in America it ISN’T patriotic? The American flag has been disgraced by the right, on the backs of 4x4s next to rebel flags, used to beat police officers at the US Capitol on Jan 6. NOW is the time to raise Ol Glory.

These American flags would not have been raised in mass if these protesters weren’t instructed to to make these protests look more patriotic.


International flags flying at these protests is not supported by the majority of Americans, which happens at most of these protest.


The destruction or the disrespecting the American flags at these protests is also not supported by the majority of Americans.


So flying more United States flags at these protests make them look more patriotic. It was that the majority of these people suddenly changed their ways overnight! They were instructed to do so to try appeal the American people because tje majority of U.S. citizens disagreed with what they were seeing during these protests in the past few months.


It a right in this country to be able to protest- PEACEFULLY &LAWFULLY!!! Protest, as much as you want, do it everday-its you right as an American, but obey the law and don’t commit a criminal act. Crime is not justified because you are protesting!!!

Who instructed who? Where and when did the instructing take place? If the answer is “in my mind”, well then it didn’t happen. Unless you have evidence.

It’s now been 8 months since the nation elected President Trump to lead this country out of the mess that the Democratic party created, including allowing millions of illegals to cross our borders. I find it very troubling that Democrats and rabble rousers continue to disrupt and at times destroy our country because suddenly they are no longer to control how OUR government works. We hear you screaming and reject it. Take your crayons and petty signs home and maybe reflect on how you’re message is being received. Honestly, little crying baby’s are getting more attention than your ridiculous ranting about Orange man bad. America has Troops in harms way, maybe because of the attitudes and feckless poor decisions of the previous administration. How about Using some of your energies and send them a letter or box from home.

Not useless at all. People in numbers are the only thing that authoritarians fear. And are you really still using “virtue signaling?” Even when it was being used a lot, I don’t think it’s used for mass demonstrations. Millions across the nation versus how many at Trump’s birthday parade? Ten thou maybe? That’s useless?

If it were the other way around, do you think that peaceful protesters would be allowed to drape signs or flags over the handrails of the courthouse with slogans such as “America First” or “Don’t Tread on Me”?

Unless there’s a specific law against it, why wouldn’t they? Even “the other way around” kind of has a bad track record with government property. Yes, pretty sure LOCAL authorities are trying very hard to keep things fair and equal. As for FEDERAL authorities, I wouldn’t be very trusting at this moment in history.
