Forget dinner and a movie — take your date to the Fifth Annual Avocado and Margarita Festival held along the scenic Embarcadero Blvd. in Morro Bay on Saturday.

Enliven your spirits and delight your palate as this charming coastal community celebrates two of its best-loved products, avocados and margaritas. This all day event with all things avocado features a delectable array of dishes from avocado eggrolls to chocolate dipped avocados.

Attendees will enjoy live music by Lenny Blue & the Otter Guys, Bobbie Santa Cruz & The Mystics and the Shival Experience. Members of the California Avocado Commission will be on hand with recipe books, avocado scoopers and children’s goodies.

Then head over the hills and up the highway to Crush & Roll West, Paso Robles’ cigar and wine festival. Indulge your wild side with a smooth cigar and satisfy your palate with a unique California wine.

The Cigar and Wine Fest, held Friday and Saturday, is open to the public. However, men and women in uniform will receive special discounts and promotions. Auction proceeds will benefit the Paso Robles Police Activities League.

Wanting instead to fill up on good deeds, this Saturday is Creek and Coastal Cleanup Day. This annual event boasts the largest number of California volunteers for the year. Last year, over 82,500 volunteers collected more than 1.2 million bags of trash.

You can help by joining fellow volunteers at Lake Nacimiento on Saturday at 9 a.m. Let’s try to beat last year’s totals.

On Sunday, celebrate the waning days of summer with the tunes of Gary Allan at the Pozo Saloon.

Allan, with his soulful country ballads, is sure to make your heart race and your feet tap. His tight jeans and muscular tattooed body is sure to make any girl swoon and any man jealous. Just slide on those cowboy boots, grab your Stetson and get ready for a great time
