Man runs into traffic and is killed

A pedestrian who ran into traffic was hit and killed by an SUV on U.S. Highway 101 near Los Osos Valley Road in San Luis Obispo at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday. [KSBY]
Reacting to a verbal altercation among passengers riding in the unnamed man’s suburban, he pulled over on the shoulder of the freeway, stepped out of the vehicle and then ran into traffic. Along with the man, three adults and three children were passengers of the suburban which was headed to Santa Maria.
The driver of the SUV was arrested for driving under the influence. He has not been identified.
