Second H1N1 death in SLO County
December 29, 2009
An elderly San Luis Obispo County man has become the second victim of the pandemic H1N1 flu virus in San Luis Obispo County.
The county Public Health department issued a statement Tuesday morning saying that the man died last week after being hospitalized with the flu virus several weeks ago. Officials believe the victim, whose name is not being released, had other underlying health conditions, which put him at high risk for the H1N1 virus.
H1N1 remains widespread across California. Those interested in obtaining additional information should contact the San Luis Obispo County Public Health Information line at 788-2903.
