Woman thwarts home invasion robbery in Nipomo

November 25, 2010

A Nipomo woman was able to thwart a home invasion robbery by breaking away from her capture and activating the home alarm at about 6 p.m. on Friday.

Three men entered a home on the 500 block of Tejas Place and found the woman asleep in her bedroom. One of the suspects held the woman on her bed while the other two men ransacked the house.

The unnamed victim was able to free herself and activate the home’s alarm system. The three suspects fled from the home in the victim’s car, a compact silver sedan.

Her car was recovered a short distance away.

San Luis Obispo Sheriff deputies are investigating and request that anyone with information call (805) 781-4550.

This story sounds odd to me. Three men and one woman and the one holding her down on her bed let her get away and activate her alarm. They certainly weren’t violent and didn’t even smack her after getting away and activating her alarm! I have to wonder if there isn’t more to this story.

3 men and one woman?

Is there more to this?… sounds unlikely.

Too bad she didn’t activate the trigger on a Glock .40 rather than that of her alarm. Maybe then one or more of the perps wouldn’t have the opportunity to become repeat offenders if they weren’t already.
