200 pound dog rescued from sinkhole
January 8, 2011
Crews in Nipomo rescued a 200 pound Mastiff that fell into a 20 feet deep and about three feet wide sinkhole.
The dog, Cedric, fell into the backyard sinkhole at 167 West Price Street at about 9 p.m. on Friday.
Crews from CAL Fire and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department lowered a rescuer into the hole who placed a harness on the dog. At 12:15 a.m., crews hoisted the hefty dog to safety.
The sinkhole is believed to be the remains of an old concrete wall.
Cedric is said to be in good condition.
