No hay for lottery winners’ horses

February 16, 2012

A California lottery winner was arrested Wednesday after Fresno County sheriff’s deputies found eight starving horses on the ranch Jose Francisco Romo purchased following his $40 million win in 2001.

According to reports in the Fresno Bee, Romo, 47, has relinquished ownership of all 11 horses found on his 40-acre Sanger ranch to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He was booked for felony animal cruelty and bail was set at $40,000.

A neighbor reportedly told authorities that horses on the ranch appeared emaciated.

So what the hell did Romo use his “winnings” on? He probably sent every cent of it back to Mexico…

What??

Despicable behavior on Romo’s part. What the Hell did he spend his winnings on? I hope all the horses are adopted out to good homes. He should never own another animal again. I wonder how he provides for HIS CHILDREN?
