Peterson swamps Molnar to win Grover Beach mayor seat

November 7, 2012

Debbie Peterson

Debbie Peterson, a Grover Beach councilwoman, easily swept to victory in the race for mayor with a 75 to 24 percent lead over Phyllis Molnar.

Peterson is expected to make changes in the South County Sanitation District’s leadership following regulators fines levied because of mismanagement, something her predecessor John Shoals refused to do.

Incumbent Karen Bright and Jeff Lee, a project manager for San Luis Obispo County’s public works department,  lead by fairly comfortable margins over three challengers for two council seats.

The race for the city of Grover Beach’s proposal to become a charter city remains too close to call with just late arriving vote-by-mail ballots left uncounted. Currently, there are 11 more votes in favor of the charter proposal than nay votes.

Very true, however lets not forget of the two that don’t approve of the wg and wallace. So its adaios pindejos.

Mayor-elect Peterson can’t make changes to the Sanitation District on her own. She’ll have to bring any concerns she has the the Board of Directors, which includes Matthew Guerrero (OCSD) and Tony Ferrara (AG).
