Emails reveal Aispuro “wiped out” by Gibson

Emails between San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Bruce Gibson and his administrative assistant call into question claims he made the day he announced his extramarital affair with his assistant.

On Nov. 16, Gibson told the Tribune that his affair with Cherie Aispuro did not take either of them away from their county responsibilities.

“Both Cherie and I gave 110 percent to this job,” he said. “It’s something we feel is important.”

Gibson’s staunchest defenders continue to insist that the affair did not affect job performance.

However, in an email chain from last April obtained by CalCoastNews, Gibson and Aispuro discuss how an earlier interlude had left both unable to perform their county duties.

Shortly before 1 p.m. on April 12, SLO Board of Supervisor’s Secretary Fran Zohns informs Gibson that one of his constituents wants to discuss the vacation rental ordinance.

Aispuro, who is copied on the exchange, emails Gibson that he should wait to contact the constituent until the next day so that she can eavesdrop. Gibson agrees noting how worn out he is.

“OK, I don’t have the energy to deal with this today anyway,” Gibson says in the email.

Aispuro then admits she has spent the work day in bed.

“I just woke up,” Aispuro writes back at 4:01 p.m. “You wiped me out.”

“Sorry to be so demanding! :-)” Gibson responds.

In November, after Gibson announced his affair, county officials said that even though there is not a county policy against having an affair with a subordinate, Aispuro would be moved to a new permanent position.

Nevertheless, emails between Gibson and Aispuro make the transfer sound temporary.

“Even though I’m on “vacation,” I’m trying to monitor emails,” Aispuro said in an email to Gibson on Nov. 19. “I got ur [sic] back BG.”

Last week, Gibson admitted he had brought his mistress back to work in his office as his subordinate. The county then posted an agreement between Gibson and Aispuro in which they claim they will not sue the county over their affair.

A few days later, a group of District 2 residents posted requests on Facebook and Twitter asking county residents to attend the upcoming Jan. 29 Board of Supervisors meeting and call on Gibson to step down from his position.

Mr. Bruce needs another adMinISTRativE aSSistant. Apparently one is not enough. Grossed out by what you know? Just imagine what you don’t know!

And on it goes – and goes – and goes. The more that is discovered – the less that is known.

It is almost guaranteed that Brucie did not ‘break’ any laws – but it is my belief that strict adherance to the law is only one factor in deciding if a politician is fit to serve. There is image and how one conducts the business he (or she) was elected to do. This e-mail, if true, is just one more bit of proof that Brucie (like many, many other ppoliticians) feel that he is above the common folk and can do things that others can not. This “holier-than-thou” attitude is despicable.

If Brucie and Aispuro want to go at each other until one, or both, or completely drained – that is great.

A lot of men his age may even envy him a bit. But do it on your time and on your dime, not mine.

Where are all the supporters of Brucie (Lynn_Tornatzky for example) now that more and more info becomes public knowledge? Do they still blindly stick to the belief that since Brucie did such a great job for Los Osos – anything else has no bearing? Maybe they are having second thoughts about this

issue and are thinking like most people should or would think. And that is:

If Brucie and Aispuro want to have a life together – great. Resign from BOS, get married (or not), get jobs that are not being paid by taxing voters (Los Osos has a few). My hope is that his soon to be ex-wife takes him to the ‘cleaners’ – not so much for doing what he did – but more for doing it how he did.

There is no law that says you must love and honor one woman your entire life – but as stated, following the ‘letter of the law’ is not the whole picture. Especially when in a public position, serving the public, being paid by the public, making decisions that effect the public, and projecting an image of what an elected official is. Is this image that Bruce and Aispuro has created (cheating, lying, projectiing a “I don’t give a damn what anyone thinks – I am doing it my way” attitude) what we want our children to see and to understand that this is how politicians perform? I would hope not, but who knows. Brucie should have had the gonads to admit the affair, resign his office, and allow his and his new-found love of his life to go enjoy their lives together – without all of this attention. Wouldn’t that have been a million times smarter?

I will repeat that Mr. Gibson does and did a great job for Los Osos. You can be a juvenile and hateful as you like with your comments, but it didn’t change the job he does/did. What ever so-called information comes out, it still doesn’t change what has already happened. You can rail against him at the ballot box.

But I suspect that you either don’t live in District 2, don’t like Gibson’s politics or you are a member of the we-hate-the sewer bunch.

Also, my name is Lynette as my name above is shown, one “n.” I am never Lynn except to a few…. and interesting that you got my last name spelled correctly.

And I’m happy that your life is so perfect that it is fine for you to cast stones.

Great job in Los Osos? Tell that to my 86 year old neighbor. The best I could do for her is promise to help her move when she can no longer afford to live in the house she has lived in for 35 years. Great job Bruce! Your decisions are so immoral that they reek of kick-backs.

Thanks for identifying your nasty words against Mr. Gibson as those of a disgruntled sewer-hater.

The sewer was always coming. Guess you gambled it wouldn’t or stuck your head in the sand. We all bought cheap here because of no sewer. Now we are getting one. Guess what, as we waited so long, we all get to pay a lot more for it.

The gift that keeps on giving. What a dirt bag. This man is not thinking with his brain ur rather his ick!. I think his brain is infected because no one in this day and age would be making these comments on the “company” computer. What the hell is he thinking.

I encourage everyone on here to go out and Google “Bruce Gibson Supporters” and see the listing of organizations, politicians, and individuals and remember them. Do not use their services or contribute to their causes until thy denouce Gibson’s behavior. Power to the People!

That is a very timely suggestion. If we contact them before the next BOS meeting, it may actually have some impact.

what’s the problem? He’s either a good man (although not married) and a good politician….or not…..sex isn’t a crime unless it’s unconsented. Relationships grow old and cold…..is there a set deadline for filing divorce before the parties move on? I don’t think so….SO let’s not get holier than thou and start throwing stones through what are generally glass windows. Nothing occuring here is something to be proud of, on the other hand, we’re dealing with human beings…..like Bill Clinton, Dwight Eisenhour, Richard Nixon, John F. Kennedy, Franklin Roosevelt, and all the rest who can’t keep the pen out of the company ink well… You don’t like it, then don’t vote for him, or send a message with a recall petition……..Judge not lest…….you know…..

Be honest…..on the planet.

Uh-oh, HonestPlanet, the cadre of Gibson haters has reacted to being called out as hypocrites and clicked a bunch of dislikes! They want to show you and us that they mean biznez! (Must get tired of logging in and out of their multiple accounts tho…..)

Oops, HonestyPlanet, sorry for the misspell, I left out the “y.”

It was laughable that the country counsel came out so quick with the made to order statement back when this came out. I wonder how much resources have been wasted so far by county counsel writing up letters for Gibson and his paramour to sign? Corruption is infesting our entire system from dog catcher to President. How do we fix it?

How can the SLO County Counsel unbaisly investigate and then report that everything regarding this matter was OK, no rules broken, business as usualy when they were invesitigating their boss, the BOS, Mr. Gibson specificially.

The County Counsel Mission Statemen is clear:

“Mission Statement

To provide accurate and reliable legal services to the Board of Supervisors, County departments, boards and agencies, and certain special districts in a manner which is cost-effective and promotes excellence in delivery of government services to the public.”

How can they not be prejudice when their boss is the Board of Supervior’s? WHERE IS THE GRAND JURY???

What did I tell you guys? More information was going to come out about Gibson, and it wouldn’t be coming from me. Bruce Gibson is an adulterous creep through and through. Awesome find, CCN!

QUOTING ARTICLE: “Emails between San Luis Obispo County Supervisor Bruce Gibson and his administrative assistant call into question claims he made….”

Okay, that right there should disqualify Gibson from being a Supe.

REALLY? They used an email account to exchange such personal information?!? WTH, Mel?

He’s a county supervisor, and a piece of tail disables him from making sound choices when exchanging emails?

Surely this warrants an investigation by the San Luis Obispo County Grand Jury. They should have access to all emails and facts about the investigation in order to determine if there was any misuse of taxpayer money.
