Man found dead behind San Luis Obispo wine shop

San Luis Obispo emergency personnel found a 45-year-old man dead behind a San Luis Obispo wine shop Wednesday afternoon.
Around 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, San Luis Obispo police and fire departments responded to a call about an unconscious man lying on the ground behind the Monterey Street Wine Co. at 1255 Monterey Street. Medical personnel pronounced the man dead when they arrived on the scene.
Police officers identified the man as someone who has had numerous contacts with law enforcement, but have yet to release his identity. The cause of death remains unknown.
San Luis Obispo police are currently investigating the death with the assistance of the San Luis Obispo County Coroner’s Office and request anyone with information to notify the department.
