Arroyo Grande council appoints Barneich
November 13, 2013
The Arroyo Grande City Council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to appoint Kristen Barneich as its fifth member.
The life-long Arroyo Grande resident fills the spot left by Caren Ray, who resigned in October to serve on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors.
Barneich is a graduate of Cuesta College, a co-founder of the nonprofit Arroyo Grande Tree Guild Association and a member of the Arroyo Grande Planning Commission since 2007.
Barneich was one of four candidates that included retired probation officer Barbara Harmon, real estate appraiser Dale Hanson and Santa Maria attorney Burke Nelson. Her term will end in December 2016.
