Downed power line causes house fire in Paso Robles
March 11, 2014
A downed power line on a Paso Robles residential street initiated a house fire and an evacuation of neighboring residences Monday evening.
Paso Robles firefighter responded to a downed power line in the 200 block of Vine Street at 5:57 p.m. Monday. Wind blew the power line into a home at 209 Vine Street causing the fire. The firefighters could not secure the house’s gas service, so, along with Paso Robles police, they evacuated neighboring homes.
Fire personnel from Atascadero and CalFire joined in the effort to extinguish the blaze. They limited the damage to an interior wall at a heating unit in the Vine Street house.
Paso Robles officials allowed neighboring residents to return their homes around 7:20 p.m. No injuries occurred during the fire.
A combined total of fourteen firefighters responded to the fire.
