Should porn stars wear condoms?

imgresA bill that would require adult film actors to wear condoms during production is gaining traction in the California Legislature. [Greenfield Reporter]

AB 1576 passed an Assembly committee by a 4-1 vote Tuesday. The bill would mandate condom usage in all porn scenes produced in California. It would also require adult film actors to undergo regular testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

Compton Democrat Isadore Hall introduced the bill in the Assembly. The proposal is Hall’s third attempt to expand statewide a mandate passed by Los Angeles voters in 2012.

Porn industry spokesmen are opposing the bill, saying they have their own protocols to protect actors, and if passed into law, the bill would send adult filmmakers out of California.

I’m not one to encourage the government in tell people what to do or not to do.


But this really is a workplace safety issue. These actors are employees, engaging in unsafe acts, without the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).


Frankly, we shouldn’t need another law, OSHA should be requiring it.

Pornography and Christians


As the true Christian is well aware, our Jewish God did not like the Gentiles, which are basically Christians, or anyone that is not a Jew. This is because the God of the Bible is for the Hebrews only, and we as Christians are pissing in the Mississippi to try and change its direction in the same vein as our God becoming a Christian.


That being said, our God talks about us Christians in a disparaging way regarding pornography, to wit: “For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.” (1 Peter 4:3)


“Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart. They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.” (Ephesians 4:17-19)


“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God. (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5)


Hell, even our Jesus didn’t like the Gentiles, aka, Christians, since He was the “King of the Jews”; “These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, ‘Go nowhere among the Gentiles and enter no town of the Samaritan.” (Matthew 10:5)


“Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.” (Romans 13:13) Does this passage infer that its okay to watch porn at nighttime? Please, can any pastors put the right spin on this to be true?

Some have tried to contend that the only way that one could be saved before Christ was to convert to Judaism. However, this is not what is recorded in Scripture. Jonah was sent to preach repentance to the pagan Assyrian city of Nineveh (Jonah 1:1-2). He did so, and they repented (Jonah 3:5-10), but their repentance did not involve becoming Jewish proselytes. The book of Obadiah was a rebuke against the pagan Edomites. The book of Nahum was another rebuke to Nineveh. Hiram, the king of Tyre (2 Chron. 2:12), the queen of Sheba (1 Kings 10:9), and king Darius of the Medes (Dan. 6:26) were all Gentiles that praised God but did not follow Mosaic Law. Nebuchadnezzar was punished by God, repented, and was restored to his senses and praised God, but he did not follow Mosaic Law (Dan. 4:28-37).

So clearly, God’s covenant with Israel did not mean that God didn’t care about the Gentiles. Paul declared that God did not leave Himself “without witness” but provided for the Gentiles (Acts 14:17). Romans chapter one gives us a summary of the world’s rejection of God that tells us some things about His relationship to the Gentiles. It declares:

Let me summarize it quickly, the Hebrew God of the bible stated: “At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people..” (Jerimiah 31:1)


The Hebrew God of the bible stated: “You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your sins.” (Amos 3:2) This specific God states with specificity that He is the God of the Jewish people and of none other.


The Hebrew God stated; “a people for his own possession, above all peoples on the face of the earth” (Deut. 7:6) Who is the Hebrew God talking about? Yes, His chosen Jewish people of His own possession, and not the other people on the earth, gentiles included.


“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a NEW COVENANT with the HOUSE OF ISREAL and with the HOUSE OF JUDAH not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt. My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband unto them,” saith the Lord. But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the HOUSE OF ISRAEL: After those days, saith the Lord, I will put My law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts, AND WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. (Jerimiah 31:31-33) Key words, New Testament is for the House of Israel ONLY.


“For I am the Lord; I change not.” (Malachi 3:6 ) Since the Hebrew God cannot change, the bible God has to remain a Jewish God as is explicitly shown in the passages above and throughout the entire bible.


Now, the clever apologist will find Biblical passages which appear to contradict my thesis – as we all know, whatever position you’re trying to support, the Bible has what you need. However, Old Salt, you need to explain why those passages I have presented here don’t mean what they so clearly say; that is, that God and Jesus have no positive interest in non-Jews, period.


Now, if you want to talk about blatant contradictions, then thats another story.

In prayer with Jesus this afternoon, He said I would be remiss if I didn’t include the following passages to prevent those Christians that actually watch porn “with an added element”, and then think they’re forgiven afterwards.


“And if your HAND or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.” (Matthew 18:8)


“And if your EYE causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.” (Matthew 18;9)

Brother Ted, “gentile” means non-Israelite peoples or nations. The original Christians were Israelites following a Jewish denomination, of which there were, and are, many. Look it up, “Christianity was a 1st-century Jewish following” straight from Wikipedia. And the split from Judaism happened 40 years after the death of Christ and it was over taxes. The Christians were, and are again increasingly today, Tea-Baggers. And yes, it is o.k. to watch porn at night, but only at night, unless you work nights.

The title poses the wrong question. We should stop looking at things issue by issue and start establishing some principles that guide our views. The right questions are “Should we be telling people what risks they can and cannot take? Is this a good use of government? Will this take away resources that we need to devote to more important things? How much will this cost?”
