Doc Burnstein’s hosting Scholarship Day

For the ninth year in a row, Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab will be awarding scholarships to its hardworking college employees.
On Aug. 12, all proceeds from the days sales will be divided among eligible employees. Participants must have a 2.75 GPA, must be enrolled in college level courses, and must have worked at least 500 hours.
Participants are also encouraged to run the business by themselves for a day as if they were the “Doc.” They are in charge of all advertising and encouraging customers to come in on that day. Doc’s will provide the ice cream, building, and all other utilities.
This year the 11 employees that will be participating are Aaron Friedman, Paige Kapner, Lacey Stewart, Austin Gasbarra, MaryKate Smith, Valerie Robles, Chelsea Lovell, Olivia DePalma, Katelyn Ingwerson, James Simonaro, and America Hall.
“Giving back to the community” has always been the CEO and founder of Doc Burnstein’s ,Greg Steinberger’s, motto and awarding scholarships is a way for him to give back to his employees. Scholarship day portrays a sense of teamwork amongst the community and Doc’s employees.
Scholarship Day will take place in the Arroyo Grande, Orcutt, and San Luis Obispo parlors. Arroyo Grande and Orcutt parlors will be open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The San luis Obispo parlor will be open from 11 p.m. to 10 p.m.
