Oil spill near Santa Maria

Firefighters in Santa Barbara County are at the scene of a nearly 1,260 gallon oil spill on Palmer Street south of Orcutt.
Shortly before 5 a.m., emergency crews responded to a suspected pipeline break that sent oil spilling across the roadway. Palmer Street is closed in the area of the spill.
Information about the cause of the break or when the road will reopen are not yet available.
