Lenny Jones accused of kidnapping and sexual assault

UPDATE: Lenny Jones’ bail has been increased from $500,000 to $1 million.

ORIGINAL: Arroyo Grande’s 2014 Citizen of the Year was arrested Monday for allegedly kidnapping, penetrating with a foreign object, and molesting two girls under 14 years of age. The alleged molestation took place while the girls were attending a birthday party at Lenny Jones’ home in March.

Jones, 63, has been a leader in the community heading multiple boards. Until he resigned a few weeks ago, Jones was the president of the Woods Humane Society, the president of the Pismo Coast Association of Realtors, past president of the Rotary Club of Arroyo Grande, past board chair of the Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce,  and was involved in Arroyo Grande in Bloom and the Arroyo Grande Tree Guild.

Local sources told CalCoastNews that this is not the first time Jones has been accused of child molestation. More than 20 years ago, Jones and a business associate parted ways after it was suspected Jones had inappropriately touched a child, sources said.

A few weeks ago, Jones stopped working in his Arroyo Grande real estate office and told friends he was checking into a 30-day rehab center for an addiction, a source said.

Shortly after 5 p.m. on Monday, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s detectives served a search warrant at Jones’ home on the 500 block of Cameo Way in Arroyo Grande. At 8 p.m., detectives served a second search warrant at his real estate office.

Detectives arrested Jones on charges of kidnapping, child molestation and penetration with a foreign object and booked him into the San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $500,000.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, according to a press release.

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying any other potential victims in this case by calling the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office at (805) 781-4500.

I’ve been Reading and watching Calcoastnews for a LONG time. this by far has the most “experts” on any other thread. OMG. if someone has 5% testosterone, it’ll Still allow them to molest. Jesus Suffering F*ck.

Experts! opinions, claims, analogies, metaphors and on and on. I did notice the infatuation and interest is strong because it involves Sex, a Public figure, and a platform to inject your own assumptions of the behavior of “those types”

Once again a persons ability to become successful in the financial/career realm defines him

in all the prestigious positions he held was because of the success he had making

There are as many guilty Repubs as there are Dem’s…what in the hell does that have to do with it? In this country, you are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. It sure looks like there is guilt there, but let’s see what shakes out. Perhaps those photos were placed on his computer by ISIS, or little green men, or the pictures wanted to jump into his computer, or….

I think the lesson to take away from this story is that NO ONE is above and beyond reproach.

Just because someone presents themselves to be an upstanding citizen does not make it so.

To make it even simpler, I will refer back to a childhood storybook I have often read to my children. I think it was called “A book about Strangers”, by Stan and Jan Berenstein. Basically, Mama and Papa bear are explaining to Brother and Sister Bear that you cannot tell a “Bad Apple” by looking. An apple can lool lumpy and ugly on he outside, but when you cut in to the inside, it is juicy and wonderful to eat. Likewise, an apple can look delicious and tasty on the outside, but when you cut into it, it can be rotten and filled with worms, not fit to eat. You cannot always judge a “bad apple” at first glance was the moral of the story.


I have met Lenny Jones on several occasions. One of the partners of Jones, Goodell, and Fellows, sold me my home years ago. Did he strike me as odd? Yes. But I will give him the full benefit of the doubt, as any American has that right. I guess my point is that just because he presented himself as a shiny, new apple doesn’t make it so. I don’t care how many committees you serve on, a creep is a creep…..

Well, well, well…it appears that I am vindicated in my finding him guilty in the court of public opinion. 6 charges against him by the DA’s office including 4 felonies. One of the victims was under 10. Maybe we’ll get lucky and the jail can have another inmate die in their custody.

I agree that child molesters have a serious and deranged disorder. However, there is no cure for that. I would NEVER forgive anyone who molested one of my children or anyone else’s! This man was accused and arrested for a child porn offense some 12 or 15 years ago! (His lame excuse at that time was that his robe fell open, exposing himself?). So, how many kids has he abused over the course of so many years. Since supposedly he can’t help it, I imagine it’s been quite a lot. The point is to remove him and others like him from society so no one is hurt by them again. I don’t care what they do with Mr. Jones! Just keep him away from our children! If that means life in prison, then so be it. If it means cutting off his genitals, then so be it. If it means the death penalty, well that’s a sure way of preventing further offenses. This is beyond disgusting. To take a childs innocence for ones own perverted pleasure is a crime against humanity. I say throw the book at him! BTW: I take offense to the comparison to homosexuality. There is absolutely nothing the same about pedaphiles and homosexuals. We are talking about CONSCENTING ADULTS, with homosexuality! Not rape & not child abuse/molestation!
