Rep. Lois Capps

Rep. Lois Capps announced Sunday she is endorsing Salud Carbajal to fill her congressional seat. [Tribune]

Capps announced in April that she will retire when her current term expires at the end of 2016. Carbajal, a Marine Corp veteran, has served on the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors since 2005.

Two other Democratic candidates, San Luis Obispo farmer Bill Ostrander and Santa Barbara Mayor Helene Schneider, have also announced their candidacies for the 24th District seat. Two Republicans, State Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian and Justin Fareed, are also running for the seat.

It is likely that other possible candidates will join the race as well.

The 24th Congressional District consists of all of San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties and part of Ventura County. Voter registration is close to an even split between Democrats and Republicans.

The primary election for the congressional race will occur in June 2016.

From one sock puppet to the next.

I met Mrs. Capps once, very briefly.

She is smarter than most give her credit. Masters Degree in Divinity from Harvard etc.

At least she is not snotty with her nose up in the air. I’m sure she has a decent nest egg saved up and wish her the best.

If you don’t have your health, you ain’t got nothing. This Society is sick in the head at it’s core. Recently I heard of the exploits of Kevin Anderson, Mayor of Sacramento, and last night Bill and Hillary Clinton when they were in office. Former President that should be in Prison for Gods sake. Republican/Democrat this trash goes on and on. I had a modicum of respect for Hillary at one time, she is now in the “dirt bag” category.

Most of this Political crap is nothing more than hypocritical individuals arranging matters for “Them selves” Not the good of the Country- who you trying to kid?

This Society is corrupt, diseased, polluted, If you ain’t got a healthy, high level of Culture, you ain’t got nothing. I don’t give a damn how much you vote, how many Bull Crap laws you write. Don’t send your stupid children.

HuH? What should Clinton be in jail for?

HuH? If that is not a sexual deviant predator I don’t know what the hell is. It’s more than Monica, much more. Yes he is a biased Conservative, but listen to the first hour of Bill Cunninghams show KVEC last night. It’s credible.

Not to mention giving all that missile technology to the Chinese.

He is a “scumbag” so is Hillary who had knowledge of his exploits and apparently paid individuals off.

Giving me the “heebie jeebies” thinking of it.

I’m picky about who I would associate with. This type of behavior is indicative of someone who is seriously “rotten” to the core, no matter the Worldly success. I would not sit down to a cup of coffee with Bill or Hillary, Shwartzenegger also come to think of it….plenty of them the more I think about, both parties.

Probably a good thing when I was younger I did not have access to this kind of temptation these people apparently do. The money, power, status, etc apparently facilitates certain types of behavior.

I would have BBQ with George Bush any day, he is a decent individual.

Appearances are deceptive (I have good instincts). I just would not care to associate with these kinds of people period, but that is just me.

Thomas Paine wrote, in ‘The American Crisis’ Lancaster, March 21, 1778 , “If there is a sin superior to every other, it is that of willful and offensive war. Most other sins are circumscribed within narrow limits, that is, the power of one man cannot give them a very general extension, and many kinds of sins have only a mental existence from which no inflection arises; but he who is the author of a war, lets loose the whole contagion of hell, and opens a vein that bleeds a nation to death.”

George W. Bush is just such a sinner: he is a war criminal. His lies and those of his conspiratorial cohorts let loose a contagion of hell that has cost over 500,000 dead and murdered, and now OUR nation bleeds.

The United States was attacked on 911. Apparently it is a matter of perspective of who unleashed first?

In hindsight one can be critical about how the war was executed, as I personally am. I have no combat experience myself, but that type of war was intended to be 3 days long in duration from start to successful completion. U.S. was constrained by public relations, political correctness, concern civilian casualties etc.

The Intelligence was poor, but then Sadam was not in compliance with directives of the U.N. (U.N complete joke, another topic)

U.S. as far as I know did not even get a drop of oil out of this?

“OUR nation bleeds” ? in what sense? according to Obama the economy etc. is robust with it’s 0% GDP? He has been in office about 7 years, and you say Bush lies?

Some things are worth fighting for. I fight everyday, although I’m perfectly aware I’m on the losing side. “The preferred few vs. the common scum classes” that’s how I roll. Anybody can be a keyboard jockey, nothing courageous in that.

George Bush is not “rotten” to the core, and is a decent, worthwhile human being. I would have BBQ with him any day.

Read Vincent Bugliosi’s ( you know …the law-and-order prosecutor that put away Charles Manson ) “The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder”, and then say that this killer is ‘decent’, and not a sociopath that should be perp-walked into the Hague for crimes against humanity.

As I stated previously, in hindsight I wonder myself about how this war was conducted? and the intelligence (if you can call it that?)

I’ll give it to you. You could be right. This is one of those things that will probably continue to unfold over time. I’m still trying to figure out how a perv like Bill Clinton ever became President? Belongs in Prison. God or if you prefer Allah knows.

I just got done reading the Qur’an. Over time, I have warmed to it. It is the product of a Monotheistic Revival Movement. Nothing namby pamby about it.

The only thing the likes of ISIS and the Salafi movement of Saudi Arabia understand is Force and Complete Domination period. One wonders who has been selling out to the likes of that in this Country? Won’t ever be me.

Prison ? For what crime?

Get elected feel the love

Mr Saddam: Inspect any thing you want, please don’t bomb us

Mr Bush: too little too late

Millions of human victims, hundreds of thousands killed because of selfish brinkmanship on our behalf by a selfish boast who would rather believe a lie.

Enjoy your drink.

Many are deeply ashamed and embarrassed.

I refereed you to an admittedly biased but nonetheless credible source like two days ago? I’m not sure but I think for starts it is called: Forcible Rape.

I’m not on the clock are you? Why are you anonymous?

I’m just taking a break from far more interesting and rigorous interests. Frankly, I’m not interested in trivial pursuit and stupidity. One, it’s insulting, two it’s boring.

zaphod and Dirk Anderson

Enough off topic already.

I want to learn more of the policy positions of all the candidates for the California 24th District for Congressional Representative. We have nearly a year to find out.

The 24th is listed as a ‘competitive’ district, but as of April / May 2015, the Cook Political Report has it Likely ‘D’, the Rothenberg Political Report lists Safe ‘D’, and the Saboto’s Crystal Ball has Lean ‘D’.

What do you expect, Democratically controlled Sacramento wants to protect their power majority

Your point is unclear …though I suspect it is of the ‘leading question’ variety.

Sacramento and the US House of Representatives are separate entities….Sacramento being State, and the HOR being Federal. I don’t see the connection you are trying to impute

Let me see if I can help you understand………….. The Democrats have been in control in California for decades, our economy keeps going down, private businesses want nothing to do with us, the only industry that grows is the public sector with a pension system that is close to a trillion dollars underfunded and the dems won’t do anything to fix….taxpayers are under 40%, leaving 60% paying no taxes and/or collecting assistance. The democrats guide and control the districts both state and federal so that their mouthpieces get and stay in office so as to not upset their destruction of the middle class.

So: just more lies, phony strawman arguments, and circular logic that leads from false conclusion to a made up puzzle of concocted premises ….as I suspected.

I guess the truth doesn’t help some people…… Sorry that’s all I have, the truth.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/07/opinion/egan-jerry-browns-revenge.html?r=0

Democratic governor Jerry Brown’s inheriting a $25 BILLION deficit from Republican Schwartzenegger and the minority obstructionist Republicans and turning it into a projected $5 BILLION surplus is a fact.

But I guess facts have a strange way of escaping your ‘truth’.

I don’t know what you have, but truth ain’t it.

Try again, the governor doesn’t control the purse strings of the state, the democratically controlled senate and assembly do. Sorry to point out yet another truth to you.

Shouldn’t the headline be..”Lois Capps by DNC to endorse Carbajal”. I have heard this woman speak in person and attempt to answer questions. She is incapable of original thought.

She’s only good IF an aide is standing with her to feed her answers and IF the questions from the audience are pre-screened.

That’s why she does very few interviews; she ends up sounding ditzy and uninformed.

One communist scratches another commie’s back. What do you expect?

Good-bye, America.

I expect that not many American proto-fascists would vote for either one.

Lois is such a sweet old lady and she did a good job, especially for seniors and our veterans.

I am sure Katcho will continue Lois’s tradition of helping the people of our district after he is elected!

Spefically, what did she do? I’m a senior and a vet, enlighten me.

If you can not figure out how she helped you then you must not be a democrat, employed in the private sector, receiving government assistance, in the US legally……

forgot, …. or pay taxes.

I’m a senior and a Vet. Neither one of them I go out of my way to wear on my sleeve. She is from my hometown in Wisconsin, done jack diddly for me. But than I don’t need much, just pursue my interests until the day I croak.

Can’t help notice some of Americas heroes sitting around collecting checks, smoking dope etc. like 14 year old’s, scumming up the Culture. I some times wonder: “wheres my V.A. ‘nut’ check”? Maybe I’ll give her an opportunity to make it happen, after all she may have had ,my Grandmother as a school teacher.

I can’t get excited about Katcho, or any of them for that matter.

I happen to like Katcho. That’s who would get my vote.

I use to like him until he sold out to Hill, Gibson and Mecham regarding pushing through Sacramento the Water Bill that is going to screw this County and its water sales. But then, I am sure the powers will help support him in the upcoming election. He is no better than the rest of the scum bags…

Oooh.

Obviously I missed some of his policy making as of late. If he has become a ‘turncoat” of sorts, it would help to know where he stands on the issues since his “change”.

He always seems to listen in the past. I might not have always agreed with him, but he seemed like a straight shooter. But admittedly, I don’t know what he has been up to the last year or two.

I certainly don’t want to endorse anyone Capps likes. A conversation with her is painful. I have tried.

Katcho = turncoat

I would rather see a pic of Salud Carbajal.

Now we know exactly who NOT to vote for?

just as simple as that.

You took those words right out of my mouth!
