July 24, 2015
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has identified 55-year-old San Luis Obispo man Warren Brockett as the man who died after crashing-landing last week while paragliding in Cayucos.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on July 17, Brockett landed in an open field east of Highway 1 and 1,200 yards south of the Cal Fire station at 108 Chaney Avenue. Emergency responders transported him to a local hospital, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
A witness told sheriff’s investigators that the victim experienced difficulty while paragliding.
The sheriff’s coroners unit performed an autopsy on Tuesday. Brockett’s cause of death is listed as multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
