At least one person was on the Cessna 182 when it crashed, authorities say. It is not yet clear whether anyone died in the crash.

Following an overnight, multi-agency search, Ventura County Fire personnel found the plane near Dawn Victor campground. The area is just north of Jameson Lake and about 30 to 40 miles north of Ojai.

Air traffic control officials said the plane departed from San Luis Obispo airport en route to San Diego.

Search crews from Santa Barbara and Ventura counties spent all night looking for the plane in rugged terrain within the Los Padres National Forest. Santa Barbara County Fire’s search ranged from New Cuyama to Summerland.

The U.S. Coast Guard also participated in the search. A report surfaced stating the plane may have crashed into the ocean.
