Arnold launches reelection campaign
September 29, 2015
San Luis Obispo County District 5 Supervisor Debbie Arnold kicked off her reelection campaign Tuesday afternoon at Atascadero’s Sunken Gardens. District 5 includes the communities of Atascadero, Santa Margarita, Creston, Ground Squirrel Hollow and Carissa Plains and portions of Templeton and San Luis Obispo.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m., former Senator San Blakeslee introduced Arnold to approximately 100 attendees. Arnold said she has worked to provide a fair distribution of water for all residents, transparency in government and the protection of property rights.
Before being elected to the board in 2012, Arnold spent 17 years as an educator. She also worked as a field representative for Blakeslee.
In addition, Debbie Arnold and her husband Steve Arnold own and operate a generational ranching operation in Pozo.
“Debbie has used her previous experience and passion for our community to provide the pragmatic leadership that is needed in our region,” said Dan Dow, San Luis Obispo County’s district attorney. “Her presence on the board will continue to provide our residents with an independent voice who influences decisions to create jobs, ensures local control and protects our communities.”
Arnold faces a fellow Pozo resident, Eric Michielssen, in the November election.
