Report of suicidal man stops traffic on Highway 101

Traffic backed up from the Five Cities to San Luis Obispo Thursday afternoon after county sheriff’s personnel responded to a report of a suicidal man near Avila Beach. [KSBY]
Around 3 p.m., authorities responded to a trailer in the 5400 block of Ontario Road where the possibly suicidal man was reportedly found with a gun. Sheriff’s personnel contacted the man who said he was not suicidal.
Still, authorities detained him around 4 p.m. Officials believe he was the only person in the trailer.
During the incident, officials closed off parts of Ontario Road. Traffic backed up on Highway 101 South, and a sig alert was issued shortly before 3:45 p.m.
