Atascadero couple injured in motorcycle accident

CHP@A motorcycle crash Saturday near Shell Beach threw two Atascadero residents off their bike, causing each to suffer major injuries.

Shortly before 5 p.m., the two Atascadero residents were headed northbound on Highway 101 near Avila Beach Drive when the driver lost control of his motorcycle and hit the guardrail. Both the 35-year-old male driver and his 23-year-old female passenger were thrown off the motorcycle and onto the freeway.

Emergency personnel then transported both victims to a local hospital. The names of the injured parties is not being released at this time.

CHP officers arrested the male for driving under the influence.

Oh so smart. Riding a motor after consuming alcohol. Such a Harley rider thing to do. Sounds like they were wearing the ‘next-to-nothing, do nothing’ buckets on their heads…because….you know…that looks cool as opposed to an effective full face helmet that does so much more.


Per the scanner one was getting CPR, hope they make it.


My sister was an emergency room physician for years, they called them “Donor-cycles”, good for everything except skin grafts… I hope they were wearing their leathers and helmets.
