Thief targeting off-road bikes in Paso Robles
August 9, 2016
A motorcycle thief or thieves has snatched four off-road bikes from Paso Robles homes over the last two weeks. One of the victims witnessed a thief stealing his motorbike, but neither he, nor the police, succeeded in catching the suspect.
All four of the stolen motorcycles were taken from open garages or unsecured side yards, according to the Paso Robles Police Department. Three of the thefts occurred on the same block of Rose Lane. The first theft occurred on July 27, and the following three thefts took place last Thursday through Sunday.
On July 27, a white and blue 2007 Yamaha TTR 90 was taken from a side yard in the 500 block of Rose Lane. On Aug. 4, an orange and white 2015 KTM XCF 350 was stolen from an open garage in the 900 block of Salida Del Sol. On Saturday, a white and blue 2007 Yamaha TTR 90 was taken from a side yard, and on Sunday, a green 1994 Kawasaki KX125 was stolen from an open garage.
Police describe the suspect as a white man approximately 25 years old with short blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a red polo shirt, blue jeans and a black backpack.
Investigators request that anyone with information about the bike thefts call the police department at 805-237-6464. Police are also reminding residents to secure their doors, windows, garages and side yards and to keep their valuables in places where thieves cannot see them.
