SLO City firefighters vote unanimously to endorse Gurnee for mayor

Members of the San Luis Obispo City Firefighters union voted unanimously to endorse Keith Gurnee for mayor. In their endorsement, firefighters touted Gurnee’s support of public safety during his previous term on the SLO City Council. [Cal Coast Times]

“The decision to endorse Keith Gurnee for mayor was made unanimously by the entire group,” said Armando Gutierrez, the Local 3523 president. “Keith demonstrated unwavering support of public safety during his time on the City Council and we are confident he will continue his commitment as mayor.”

Prior to his current bid for mayor, Keith Gurnee served on the SLO City Council and was influential in preserving open space including Bishop Peak and Varian Ranch and restoring the Park Hotel.

“President Gutierrez and the Firefighters Union represent a vital portion of our population,” Gurnee said. “There is no higher purpose in local government than protecting public safety. These dedicated men and women who protect our communities deserve our support. I am extremely honored to have received SLO City Firefighters Local 3523’s endorsement.”

That’s great, but it’s too bad most of them can’t vote as they don’t live in the city…

I do not like Heidi Harmon, so I am glad the SLO City Firefighters endorse Keith Gurnee.


He will do a good job for us!

The Firefighters probably are afraid that another term of Heidi Harmon and they would be driving electric fire trucks and scooters to battle emergency’s!!!

Heidi has shown more concern over Global Warming than the City of San Luis Obispo:(

And not so long ago Heidi’s bff Katie Lichtig was the firefighters’ bff. Guess all the fun and games didn’t really cut it and the firefighters know that the SLO Council Cabal doesn’t get it.

The firefighters know that Heidi Harmon is not qualified to be mayor of SLO, and her eight story buildings will lead to firefighter deaths.


Let’s vote to reclaim our city by electing Keith Gurnee as SLO mayor.
