February 16, 2019

The man who shot an intruder attempting to break into his Los Osos home early Friday morning works as a correctional officer at the California Men’s Colony. [Cal Coast Times]

Shortly before 3 a.m., the correctional officer noticed a man attempting to break into his home on the 1300 block of 6th Street, retrieved his gun and shot the alleged intruder.

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff deputies arrived to find the suspect suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital.

As of Friday at 4 p.m., the intruder remained at the hospital, according to the sheriff’s department. Officials are not releasing further information about the suspect’s condition at this time.

If you don’t want to get shot, don’t break into my house.

hmmmm, well, reading this article I CAN NOT blame the homeowner….it DOES MATTER if he was a Guard at Men’s Colony….maybe if these criminals realized that there are people who will “STAND THEIR GROUND” then they’d be less likely to be breaking into people homes. And, no it’s not vigilantism….it’s the rights of people to PROTECT THEIR PROPERTY. The intruder is a CRIMINAL — I hope nothing happens to the homeowner!

Maybe if MORE of these idiots who think they can just break into someone’s home are SHOT then they’ll start thinking twice about trying to get in!! You know the word gets out that people aren’t going to put up with this crap anymore! Oh, you’ll call it vigilantism but I call it “stand your ground” and I’m glad the Homeowner, even IF HE IS A correctional officer – doesn’t matter..took this seriously — cuz you DON’T know how far the “CRIMINAL” would have went and I’m not one who would want to find out – the jerk who was trying to break in is a CRIMINAL and the Homeowner should NOT be have to bow down to these low-lifes!!

We were warned by the DA and other law enforcement entities about early release. We didn’t listen. Now look at us, just look at us.

So did the shooter get arrested or detained? last conversation I had with sheriff D. XXXXXX also know as one of the “cowboys” expressed the sheriff dept’s opinion of what he called dime store cops. Just sayin..

Why don’t the give the name of the person who was shot? This may be the same person that the SO told me if I had to confront the perpetrator to make sure I had my loade 45.

Cowboy? If a man is trying to break into your home at 3AM, you would call the police and pray he doesn’t rape your wife before they get there?

What would you do if you were home and someone was breaking into your house? Run? BTW who is sheriff D. XXXXXX? Judging from you’re above comment you would turn tail and run.
