While the number of people hospitalized in San Luis Obispo County continues to decline, the average number of new cases has slightly increased after Cal Poly students returned to campus for the fall season.

Of the 3,685 confirmed coronavirus cases in SLO County, 3,450 individuals have recovered, and 31 have died. Of those still suffering from the virus, there are seven people in the hospital — one in intensive care, and 197 recuperating at home.

The most protected individual on the planet, due to risky negligent behavior, now has the disease. What about all the miracle cures? Hydroxychloroquine with and without zinc? Injecting bleach? Light therapy? How can a hoax be so effective? Covid deniers are slowly being dragged to reality.

Reality “leads the willing, while the unwilling get dragged.” Seneca

Due to living, and working in society, many, like the president have fallen ill to COVID. Why? Because it is a viral illness, which many citizens will get with, or without, the so-called effective mask that the CDC initially said would not help…many of which are a thin piece of fabric! No one is denying that COVID is a real illness, not even Trump….I know you remember (even though you don’t want to) that he was quick to ban travel from China…all while Pelosi was walking the streets of SF Chinatown telling people it was completely safe & begging people to visit! Your hatred for Trump only carries your argument so far…yes, he is an A-hole (like every other politician) but the fact is, he has done more for the American people than any president in recent history

Trump is the greatest creator of misery for the American people in modern times. So far, 213,000 dead from COVID under his watch, double plus the death tole of the next country; unemployment rate 10.2% July 2020 from 4.8% January 2017, more Americans out of work ever; 1 out of 6 small businesses failing; national debt now $27,000,000,000 an increase of 42% under Trump and growing.

As for your travel restriction, the horse was out of the barn! 300,000 people came here from China in the previous month and there were no restrictions on Americans going back and forth.

Who cares what anybody else was doing or saying or hating, just a deflecting cover up for an incompetent. Trump is the POTUS. He had the information. He failed. He IS the second worst President in American history.

All those numbers you threw out were the results of Democratic states shutting down a booming economy, one that we had not seen in many, many years. I agree that Trump is not fiscally conservative…I am not a fan of his willingness to spend money liberally. What other people did is very important, the president is not a dictator…our country is reliant on a combination of the 3 branches of government. The true deflections & cover-ups are blaming Trump for 213k COVID deaths as if he created the virus. It’s kind of like saying that Obama is responsible for the hundreds of thousands that died from heart disease during his presidency because it happened in his watch….everyone knows that eating junk food & not exercising can lead to death…how could he let that happen?!?!

Well said

Here’s another saying…”haters gonna hate”. Here’s wishing the President and the First Lady a speedy recovery. It can happen to the best of us.

And like lemmings, the true believers are going to continue to jump, by not wearing a mask, not socially distancing, not wash hands, and by supporting an incompetent.

Like I said….

And we will all get in our cars and drive to work, and drive to places less important, even though there is a real risk that we may die in a car accident.

Here is a statistic missing, to date in SLO County 187 have been hospitalized, receiving those nice bills for hospital stays.

The human mind is an amazing thing. Mine will try to fill in the missing information in inadequately documented reports. But my mind is not me, just a fantastic tool available for my use. Often, I must put stop to its runaway process to have an answer for every thing, person, occurrence or inaction. Frequently, I must invoke the common (sense) denominator – We were not there so we can not not know what actually occurred.

I mentioned some months ago the lack of easily available details concerning COVID-19 testing. Still, here we are, six plus months after news of the virus became widespread (the news, not the virus). Still missing from the reports typically offered to the public: 1) What is the number or percentage of people who tested negative? 2) Of the people who tested positive, how many or what percentage are asymptomatic?

What do you other CCN readers think? Are we getting the whole story/picture from the media? I’m not singling out CCN. I believe the CCN staff does a better job than any main-stream media does at getting the detail.

Certainly we are getting the whole story/picture from the media, and then some.

But our minds and patterns are so oriented to the conventional routine, the standard, the secure, the spoiled that we can’t process change, and the need to modify simple behaviors. POTUS and FLOTUS should be a wake up call, but they won’t be. We are “dumb smart people” unable/unwilling to make simple changes.

Yes, POTUS & FLOTUS should definitely wear masks when they are on camera, like all the other fake politicians.

The sources I don’t believe are the Trump administration, right wing pundits and right wing media. They are all too concerned about downplaying the health risks of COVID, due to the diseases’ effect on the election.

And the left wing media doesn’t overplay the effects of COVID either? Oh my, you can’t watch any of these networks and not get the sense that COVID kills everyone it affects. COVID is so powerful it can travel through water, through 12” thick steel buildings, it can travels at 7 times the speed of light, and so on.

Is it as bad as the left says, no. Is it the same as the normal flu, no. Somewhere in the middle is the reality. It heavily impacts those who were compromised before they catch it and doesn’t do much to those who were healthy before they catch it.

Fatality rate is low as is the rate of hospitalization.

This comes from the data that both sides produces. I’m not to concerned with the commentary that follows it, just the data.

“Oh my, you can’t watch any of these networks and not get the sense”

So you are having a feeling?

“COVID is so powerful it can travel through water, through 12” thick steel buildings, it can travels at 7 times the speed of light”

No one said any of that.

” I’m not to concerned with the commentary that follows it, just the data.”

Then why are you spreading/promoting hyperbole and bs?

Yes, it is much more sound to over-react and shut down our economy….. when statistics show a 0.6% death rate. Isolating and quarantining those at greatest risk would’ve been a much more sound approach…but those on the left would not listen. Sweden did not shut down and actually fared better than the US.

We appreciate you sharing your personnel way of thinking. Please share your credentials as a healthcare worker? Virologist? Doctor?

“actually fared better than the US.” Not really lots of restrictions will last for another year, they did not just open up.

I appreciate you sharing your personnal way of thinking. But on Covid, please read foreign news and their covid battle.
