SLO awards $109,800 to organizations that promote diversity

November 19, 2020

Mayor Heidi Harmon

The San Luis Obispo City Council voted Tuesday to provide $109,800 in funding to eight non-profits that support diversity.

The city’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Task Force, which was created in July, recommended eight of the 20 nonprofits that applied for the funding. The primary function of the funding is “narrowing equity gaps that have disproportionately impacted marginalized communities, such as: education, housing, physical and mental health services, criminalization, community representation and food security.”

Funding recipients:

  • R.A.C.E. Matters — $32,600
  • SLO Noor Foundation — $20,000
  • SLO Repertory Theater — $16,300
  • Central Coast Coalition for Undocumented Student Success — $10,200
  • Diversity Coalition San Luis Obispo County — $10,000
  • Literacy for Life — $10,000
  • SLO International Film Festival — $7,500
  • One Cool Earth — $3,200

Proof that insanity reigns in the city of SLO. I would advise you citizens of SLO to demand Heidi and her diversity clan, have a citizen group that doesn’t have any ties to these fanatic extremist groups, as an oversight committee. After all, those are YOUR tax dollars going to groups that are absolutely bigoted and intolerant to say the least. Diversity? I think not. So glad I don’t live in the Peoples Republic of SLO Portland.

Every one of these organizations is addressing either health, education, or both. And that is wasteful stupid or bad why?

It’s wasteful, stupid and bad because of the irony of it all. Those receiving the the stolen taxpayer funds are the ones in need of diversity. Most of these organizations, such as r.a.c.e matters are bigoted, intolerant to opposing views or ideas while willfully promoting lawlessness and division through threats. The other irony is most of these already are funded by the taxpayer through grants. Maybe these wasted funds could better serve the community with the drug epidemic, homeless and deaths of both that has exploded under the watch of the narcissist Mayor Harmon. She’s so blinded by her own self-arrogance and self-righteousness she can’t see the true need of the funds for the city.

Sir, it is ‘wasteful, stupid and bad’, when we’re in the middle of a pandemic and people don’t have jobs, therefore money to live! I continually am reminded we are living in alter universes.

Apparently you have no clue on any of these, the only legitimate one is the NOOR Foundation. Not one of the others does any good to the community.

How do any of you figure how is it the “Tianna” Anti-American agenda is getting paid ? She is and has been a long term UNEMPLOYED wannabe who craves attention and then sympathy and her Lawyers tell her to “Cry, Wimpier, then PLEAD for Donations .

Her little band of wannabees are mostly uneducated, want free everything, live off the very government they steal funds from, case in point we were reading a report this week that the State of Washington is seeking from the “Arata” Clan especially Michelle Marie Arata wants to recover the welfare and food stamps they paid to her over false pretenses.

That is fraud at its worst, thankful the authorities are going after them both for welfare fraud. Love America or Leave IT !

Just open your wallets SLO, you voted for this.

Quit your whining. you re-elected her. your stupidity has consequences

I’m really confused, I thought the city was broke?

Great! Maybe we’ll get a dirt track and have motorcycle races again.

Did any of these give money to Heidi Harmon for her campaign? Just askin’…

Can I sue the city when one of these groups breaks the law and causes me or my business damages? Because the city funded these groups and if we look at past behavior they are dictators of future behavior??

Asking for a friend.

Race Matters gets the most money. Anyone surprised?

I am confused. I thought everyone is equal and race does not matter?
