One person was killed Wednesday afternoon in Nipomo after a excavator fell on top of their vehicle.

Shortly after 4 p.m., a semi-truck headed northbound on Highway 101 crashed into a guardrail causing the truck to lose its load. The excavator it was carrying then fell down a small embankment and crashed into a Cadillac Escalade on the Willow Road off-ramp.

The driver of the Cadillac Escalade died at the scene.

A CHP investigation is ongoing. The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of their next of kin.

It was God’s will. Our heavenly Father called him home…. Only God understands.

Purely a unfortunate accident:(

The truck had a right front blow out that caused it to hit the guard rail and then the excavator came off the trailer, rolled down the embankment and landed on the car:(

You just never know, if the blow occurred 100 yds either way, it wouldn’t have killed the poor guy in the Escalade:(

yeah, ya just never will know if a proper inspection of the tires would have prevented it altogether…we may never know if the tire was a retread…

in onerous-regulation-california, this should have never happened…some one was negligent.
