Newsom extends health benefits to undocumented immigrants

Amid a huge budget shortfall, on Monday Governor Gavin Newsom offered comprehensive healthcare insurance to California’s approximately 700,000 undocumented immigrants.

“In California, we believe everyone deserves access to quality, affordable healthcare coverage — regardless of income or immigration status,” Newsom said in a statement to ABC News. “Through this expansion, we’re making sure families and communities across California are healthier, stronger, and able to get the care they need when they need it.”

In 2022, Newsom and state lawmakers agreed to extend Medi-Cal benefits to immigrants. Since then, California’s budget deficit has grown to $68 billion.

The plan to provide medical insurance for immigrants is slated to cost the state about $3.1 billion per year.

The California Senate Republican Caucus argues that adding 700,000 illegal immigrants to Medi-Cal will exacerbate issues with provider access.

Government is great at spending your money and keep asking you for more. What happened to the Billions that was ripped off from the state on Covid ? The health care system in Ca is a scam and he is just buying votes for his Pres run!!

Kind of like the Lottery, which was SUPPOSED to pay for education, but it seems there is always a school bond every election cycle to fund education, or the complete boondoggle of legalizing pot, which now has led to a massive “black market”, increase in crime, deaths, political corruption, and added danger and cost to law enforcement, fire personal, and paramedics. A couple other scams on the taxpayers.

Emperor Newsom has decreed that Illegals are entitled to “Rights ” like free Healthcare and is trying to grab a Constitutional right to defend our families from Criminals by declaring that the protected ability to carry a Legal firearm is Criminal.

Newsom is a fool. An incompetent fool. Bankrupting the state for political purposes. Do these politicians realize the draw factor this will cause? Newsom has taken the state to a 60 Billion dollar deficit now. It’s just the beginning. His solution will be to cut state services and increase taxes on the taxpayers. Or just let the deficit increase endlessly? Who is paying for this giveaway? Which of you voted to giveaway your tax money in this way? Just imagine what this man would do as president.

Thank God. No one who needs it should ever be denied healthcare. To let someone remain sick or die because of lack of healthcare or the money to pay, for it is inhumane. We are better than that.
