Anti-ICE protest in San Luis Obispo following second fatal shooting

More than 300 protestors gathered outside the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday morning to protest a second fatal shooting by an immigration officer.

On Saturday morning, a federal immigration officer shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti during a scuffle in Minneapolis. While some say officers were attempting to disarm Pretti, who brought a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun to the protest, others argue the officer murdered an unarmed, restrained man.

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, protesters gathered off Highway 1 at Kansas Avenue in rural San Luis Obispo. They held signs asking people to resist and seeking the abolishment of ICE.

One protester wore a full body frog costume and another wore a set of wings.

Protesters chanted “ICE out of SLO,” while some drivers honked their horns in support.

I am in full support of protesting peacefully. I am a 2nd amendment practicing American citizen. I own many guns and I am part of a Law Enforcement family.


This latest shooting of the 37 year man nurse was preventable. The federal agents would not have even pulled their firearms out if the man nurse didn’t have a firearm himself. He should not have brought his firearm with him down to the protests where less than a mile away Renee Good was shot and killed by federal agents.


Protesters need to make better choices when “peacefully protesting” or they might not live to see tomorrow!!!!!

Protesters better realize that federal are using deadly force, justified or unjustified!!!!!


Even if the shooting is unjustified it doesn’t bring you back to life.


Protesters listen up….don’t put yourself between federal officers and individuals getting arrested by B.P., ICE, or DHS and definitely don’t bring your firearm down to the protest you are taking part in!!!! Federal agents could very well send you to the afterlife for doing so!!!!

Tell us how you voted for this… how he FAFO. Show everyone who you are. If you support this government execution you are anti 1A and anti 2A and might as well burn the flag and constitution while you’re at it. It doesn’t matter if you agree with those protesting or not at this point. No excuses, see the light and reject the anti American movement that is DHS, CBP, ICE. Two people shot already in Minnesota, one dead, and this guy thinks it’s a good idea to bring his pistol down to the Minneapolis protests and engage federal officers, STUPID CHOICE, STUPID EFFING CHOICE THAT COST HIM HIS LIFE!!!! If he left his pistol at home he’d still be alive!!!!

I didn’t mention illegal immigrants in my post. I’m talking about white Americans being killed for exercising their 1st and 2nd amendment rights as US citizens, and being killed by agents of a wing of government (DHS) younger than your boyfriend probably. I support removing illegal immigrants. I do not support what has been happening to American folks in the streets.

“We are supposed to be a nation of law and order”, not brawling, while armed, with federal officers doing their duty while enforcing the law of the land. Bad stuff can happen when you engage in violence, and if you carry deadly force you should understand that you might be met with deadly force.


If you want to take up arms against the government, then do so, and let the chips fall where they may. But armed “protesters” who expect to be treated like they’re NOT a deadly threat are just playin stupid games…


Sad outcome, but maybe place yourselves in the shoes of the officers having to deal with this hostility, while making snap decisions on how to keep themselves and others safe, for a moment.
