Anti-ICE protest in San Luis Obispo following second fatal shooting

More than 300 protestors gathered outside the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday morning to protest a second fatal shooting by an immigration officer.

On Saturday morning, a federal immigration officer shot and killed 37-year-old Alex Pretti during a scuffle in Minneapolis. While some say officers were attempting to disarm Pretti, who brought a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun to the protest, others argue the officer murdered an unarmed, restrained man.

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, protesters gathered off Highway 1 at Kansas Avenue in rural San Luis Obispo. They held signs asking people to resist and seeking the abolishment of ICE.

One protester wore a full body frog costume and another wore a set of wings.

Protesters chanted “ICE out of SLO,” while some drivers honked their horns in support.

The USA is wasting billions every year dealing with the illegal alien population. This money could and should be used to help the millions of born in the USA underprivileged Americans with housing, medical care, education, etc. You should have been protesting against Biden, Harris and the DNC for allowing the problem to grow over the last 4 years into an utter disaster.

I will never get over all the people defending people who have defied the law by illegally crossing into our country. It is a slap in the face to everyone who came here legally, learned English, and became an American. Not a hyphenated half American/half whatever they left behind to come here. Not a forever foreigner or opportunist taking advantage of American generosity. Will you protesters personally feed, shelter, clothe, and educate them and their children, at your own expense? If you truly want these people here, don’t just stand there, put your money where your mouth is.

Trump fears what a large portion of this country already knows. That he will be gone soon. This is what you get when you elect a president whose only desire was to not go to jail.
