Morro Bay chief tapped for undersheriff
March 2, 2012
Tim Olivas
A Cal Poly graduate who now heads a beach city police force is San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson’s choice as undersheriff.
Tim Olivas, chief of the Morro Bay police department, will replace the retiring Martin Basti.
Olivas was described by Parkinson as “a trustworthy, forward-thinking leader who shares my views.”
Olivas’ first job was with the Morro Bay department, and since has accumulated a background including a stint with the California Department of Fish and Game, responsible for three separate commands.
Parkinson said the change in command will occur in mid-April.

I hope Tim is CCW friendly.

A better choice than one of the rank and file. That place needs deep-cleaning.
