As the summer concert season winds down at Vina Robles, the fall heats up with headliner Alice Cooper making a rare central coast appearance when he performs at the Chumash Casino Resort on November 21, Cal Coast News has learned.

Born Vincent Furnier in Detroit Rock City, Cooper was recently inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and currently hosts a nationally-syndicated radio program. The shock rocker has toured continuously for over four decades and his band features rising guitar virtuoso Orianthi.

Also playing a unique central coast concert is old school rapper and TV star LL Cool J, who takes the Chumash stage five days prior on November 16.

In addition, guitarist Brian Setzer, formerly of Stray Cats fame, will bring his rip-roaring orchestra to the Chumash for his Christmas Rocks! show on December 19. For more information on these and other events in Santa Ynez, check out www.chumashcasino.com.

And finally for all you blues aficionados, the SLO Blues Society kicks off its 33rd straight year of danceable live music with their first show of 2013-14, featuring James Armstrong at the SLO Vets Hall this Saturday, September 21 at 8 pm. Tickets are $20 at the door.

You all should Google his playlist…he had some decent hits in the 70″s. I met him at the Point in Phoenix and we played golf. I did not know he was Alice Cooper until the 12th hole. He invited us to his trendy restaurant and the food was very good. Probably the nicest X Rock Star around. I just might go and see him.

Isn’t he like, a hundred and fifty years old?

With a face like that, who cares if they are a senior citizen.
