Global cooling?

September 10, 2013

The Arctic ice cap increased 60 percent over one year triggering intense debates over global warming predictions. [Mail]

In Sept. 2012, Arctic ice covered 1.32 million square miles, an all-time recorded low and some scientists predicted that by 2013 the Arctic would experience its first recorded ice free summer. However, in August 2013 Arctic sea ice averaged 2.35 million square miles, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center.

Professor Anastasios Tsonis, of the University of Wisconsin, was one of the first to investigate the ocean cycles and contends we are entering a period of global cooling.

“We are already in a cooling trend, which I think will continue for the next 15 years at least,” Tsonis told the Mail. “There is no doubt the warming of the 1980s and 1990s has stopped.”

In February, U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Chairman Rajenda Pachuri said that world temperature data has been flat for the past 17 years while greenhouse gasses have been accumulating at a record pace.

Proponents of stricter fossil fuel regulations contend this year’s increase in Arctic ice is because of an unusually cool summer and that there has been a long-term trend of Arctic ice decline due to human-caused global warming

Later this month, representatives from throughout the world will meet in Stockholm to agree on the final draft of the latest IPCC report slated to be used to construct a proposed 2015 global climate control treaty.

In the 45 days, the pole melted, the core temperature of the ice is not as low as it once was, it doesn’t take as much energy to melt,

It still freezes and last year was an extensive ice cover just not as thick and cold as previously, the ocean depths are also warming slowly, don’t let selective data fool you . In previous years with longer summer the pole did not melt, this years short warm season did.

I blame the sequester.

Sorry you’re wrong, It’s George Bush’s fault

I also remember reading something about the initial measuring being done incorrectly from the satellite photos… something like a region slightly larger than California was “missed” or not counted. It was a few years ago, but it didn’t get much traction, as all the science was in and the debate was over.

How inconvenient this truth must be…

the data stream is on going, scientific observation is never done always more to know.

Jesus,

yesterday I was stressed out about global warming. And today I’m now stressed out about global cooling.

The stress, the stress! It’s unbearable.

you and rambunctious go out of your way to try and explain why colder isn’t really colder but at the same time why warmer really is warmer. When your mind is made up and you twist everything to fit your desired conclusion–you’re no longer doing science.

Agreed, abigchocoholic!

Here’s one often overlooked – the ice cap expands and recedes every year with the seasons – bigger in winter, smaller in summer. So when Henny Penny runs around in August saying, “the ice is melting, the ice is melting!” Anyone with any observance of the time of year is going to ignore her… unless, of course, it’s one of Al Gore’s sucker groupies that think it’s ok for HIM to pollute the planet (’cause he’s their god and anything he says and does is absolute truth, (including selling the country short by promoting NAFTA – the first scam he played for the globalists; global warming is just another on their agenda – to continue raping the people of planet Earth of their wealth via carbon taxes – which are traded, bought, and sold – which REALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH REDUCING ANYTHING BUT THE WORKING PEOPLE’S BANK ACCOUNTS and TRANSFERRING WEALTH TO THE LIKES OF GORE, PELOSI, AND OTHERS THAT DON’T NEED IT.)) Don’t people see it? Everything Al Gore’s promoted has to do with transferring wealth to him and his fat-cat cronies, whether it be via NAFTA trade agreements, or UN-IPCC “global warming initiatives”…. duh, ….

Why is itt that the biggest liars have the most ardent followers? I am just amazed at how many people can’t connect the dots, or to put it another way: I’m amazed at how many suckers there are, but then again, as they say, there’s one born every minute.

Wake up.

If Zaphod is really a conscientious person, concerned about the planet …. be concerned with how much pollution all these wars are putting into the atmosphere, water, earth. Be concerned about how polluted the waters are with chemicals such as fluoride (proven to decrease IQ – and we wonder why they’re putting it in the water supply?), hormones, prescription drugs … all of which are flushed into the water supply. Be concerned about genetic engineering – in the food chain – supposedly to end starvation, but in reality, it’s about trade agreements, monopolies, and control of the food supply. Be concerned about the 90% of nuclear power plants leaking in this country. Be concerned about the perchlorate leaking from military bases into the surrounding water supply.

Seems to me there’s a hell of a lot of issues WAAAAY more important and threatening to life as we know it than carbon – a substance REQUIRED by all plant life to survive and thrive so they can produce oxygen for humans to survive and thrive.

Here’s a concept: There is no shortage of anything on planet earth – only waste, misuse, and abuse, usually stemming from the greed of those that control resources. Those that sell the lie of “limited resources” are those that are profiting from it. Even the notion that oil is a “fossil fuel” is a lie – sold to congress way back when ….. and it has nothing to do with concern for the planet or mankind.

Boomers – think back … how much a gallon of gas cost when you were a child (25 cents) and it will all make sense.

Wake up, Amerika – people of wealth and power have been lying to you a long time – and some of them have been/are in your government, your education system, your courts, your churches.

The average number of summer days the North Pole is above freezing is 90. This year it was 45 days.

At least CCN posted the information…won’t find this info in The New Times.

My battery operated lawn mower is on it’s last charge, this has helped me to decide to go back to gas, to help off-set global cooling.

What’re ya mowing your geenhouse grasses? Whole damn thing is getting too confusing. All I know is that humans are bad and require more regulation.

Keep in mind with ethanol fuel we have you will have to dump out all your fuel each time you use it ! and replace the fuel lines and carburetor twice year . Stay strong it takes dedication to save the environment.

Thanks for the warning, but I use a fuel stabilizer to prevent the “gum effect”. Learned my lesson years ago on what corn does to 87 octane

You must not live in San Luis Obispo… no one here can afford to water their lawns anymore.

If I lived in san luis, I would call myself “the guy slo”

Duh
